Castle (Judgment)
Castle is a minor location in the Guilty Gear series, appearing in Guilty Gear Judgment. It is the sixth and final area of the game's story mode.
Design
Castle is an extravagant but dilapidated castle within the other world, used by Judgment as a base of operations after his absorption of Inus's powers. At the very top of the castle is a throne room beneath a blood-red sky.
Castle is split into two unnamed stages:
- Stage One: The interior of the castle, featuring a number of floors that can be traversed between via cage-like elevators.
- Stage Two: The throne room atop the castle, where the player character confronts Judgment.
Story
After Judgment absorbs Inus's powers, he leaves for his castle while daring the player character to follow him.[2] The player character fights to the top of the castle to confront Judgment in his throne room. Judgment declares his intention to become god of both the human world and the other world before attacking, but to his shock he isn't able to defeat the player character.[3] Too late, he realizes his mistake: taking the powers from Inus's corpse prevented him from being overwhelmed by the monster's greater will, but Inus's death also puts him on a time limit, as such a fusion cannot last long without a living host.[4][5] Raymond tries to deny that he could make a mistake, but before long the fusion goes out of control and Judgment is consumed.
With Judgment defeated, the player character leaves the other world.[3]
Trivia
- The player can unlock Judgment as a playable character by collecting eight letters spelling out J-U-D-G-M-E-N-T hidden throughout Castle's first stage.
