그림자라고는 해도 실은 의지를 가진 금수라 불리는 생명체이다.
【성격】
자토를 차지한 에디는 자신이 「병기」로서 만들어졌다는 것을 알고 있었다. 내면에서 솟아나는 파괴와 살육이란 파멸적 충동이 누군가가 의도적으로 심어둔 것이라는 사실 역시 깨닫고 있었다.
그림자는 자신을 만든 자의 의지와는 관계없이 스스로의 사고를 소유할 정도로 성장해 있었다. 즉, 숙명에 저항할 수 있는 「마음」을 얻은 것이다. 그러나 생겨버린 「마음」은 자신과 다른 존재인 「인간」에 의해 의지할 곳을 원하는 것도 용서받지 못하여, 소외감과 고독에 분노하고 있었다.
【배경】
숙주 자토를 완전히 지배하고 있었던 에디. 그러나 바로 그 자토가 육체적 · 정신적인 약화로 인해 숨이 끊어지고 말았다. 숙주의 혼이 없다면 육체가 붕괴하는 것은 시간문제란 것을 깨달은 그는 자신의 존재를 유지하기 위해서 새로운 육체를 찾고 있었다. 그러나 노력에도 불구하고 자토의 육체는 붕괴. 마찬가지로 에디도 사라졌다.
본작에서는 원로원에 의해 소생된 자토와 함께 부활. 황천 세계를 경험했기 때문인지, 자토의 영향을 받은 것인지 성격도 매우 온화해진 듯하다. 또한, 자토와의 관계성도 변화하였다.

Eddie is the shadow Zato summons and controls through the use of forbidden magic. "Shadow" may be something of a misnomer, as some believe he is actually a dark beast of some sort.
[Personality]
After taking over Zato's body, Eddie realized that he had been created as a weapon, and his uncontrollable desire to destroy and kill was implanted in him by someone else.
[Outline]
Over the course of their time together, Eddie slowly became more and more the active partner. Zato suffered from physical and mental weaknesses which eventually took his life, although by that point Eddie was almost completely in control. Knowing that, without its soul, it was only a matter of time before Zato's body began to deteriorate, Eddie began to search desperately for another body. His efforts were in vain, however, and he soon followed his host into the afterlife.
The Conclave resurrected Zato and with him Eddie. It's unclear if it was the experience of dying, or perhaps just the influence of his host, but the revived Eddie is much calmer than he once was. His relationship with Zato also seems to be very different.

不断成长的影子没有受到其创造者的意志支配，最终拥有了自我意识——也就是足以与宿命对抗的“心”。然而，刚刚诞生的“心”却又不允许影子将与自身相异的“人类”视为寄托，这导致了影子长期受到疏离与孤独的折磨。
【角色背景】
艾迪渐渐彻底夺取了宿主扎特肉体的控制权。但是扎特本人却因为肉体与精神双重衰弱而死。艾迪发现，如果宿主没有了灵魂，肉体朽坏也只是时间问题。为了维持自身存在，他决定开始寻找新的肉体。然而扎特的肉体还是损毁了，艾迪也同时消失，努力最终化为泡影。
本作中，艾迪不但跟被元老院复活的扎特一同复苏，性格也随之变得温和——不知是因为在黄泉走过一遭，还是受到扎特的性格影响。此外，他与扎特的关系也与从前不同了。
因扎特使用禁咒而供其使喚的影子。

【背景】
艾迪完全支配身為容器的宿主——扎特。但這是因為扎特本身肉體及精神上的衰弱，而導致身亡。艾迪知道失去靈魂的宿主肉體，毀滅也只是時間的問題，為了維持自己的存在，不斷在找尋新宿主。但是他的努力卻白費了，扎特的肉體毀壞，艾迪也因此消失。
在本作中，他和扎特藉由元老院之手，雙雙復活。或許是曾經在黃泉走過一遭，也可能是受到扎特的影響，他的個性似乎變得十分穩重。此外，跟扎特之間的關係也產生了變化。

[Persönlichkeit]
Nachdem Eddie Zatos Körper übernommen hatte, erkannte er, dass er als Waffe geschaffen worden war und dass jemand anderes ihm seinen unkontrollierbaren Wunsch zu zerstören und zu töten eingepflanzt hatte.
[Kurzdarstellung]
Im Laufe ihrer gemeinsamen Zeit wurde Eddie allmählich zum aktiveren Partner. Zato litt an körperlichen und geistigen Schwächen, die ihn schließlich das Leben kosteten, obwohl Eddie zu diesem Zeitpunkt fast vollständig die Kontrolle hatte. Da Eddie wusste, es wäre nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis Zatos Körper ohne Seele verfallen würde, begann er verzweifelt, nach einem anderen Körper zu suchen. Durante el tiempo que estuvieron juntos, Eddie se fue convirtiendo poco a poco en el socio activo. Zato sufría de debilidades físicas y mentales que al final acabaron con su vida, aunque para entonces Eddie tenía ya casi todo el control. Sabiendo que sin su alma era cuestión de tiempo que el cuerpo de Zato comenzara a deteriorarse, Eddie comenzó a buscar otro desesperadamente. Sin embargo, sus esfuerzos fueron en vano y pronto siguió a su anfitrión hasta el más allá.
El Cónclave resucitó a Zato y con él a Eddie. No está claro si fue la experiencia de la muerte, o quizás solo la influencia de su anfitrión, pero el resucitado Eddie es mucho más tranquilo de lo que era antes. Su relación con Zato también parece ser muy diferente.

Au fil du temps, Eddie devient peu à peu le plus actif du duo. Le corps et l'esprit de Zato l'abandonnent progressivement et il finit par perdre la vie, alors qu'Eddie est sur le point de prendre le contrôle total de son enveloppe. Conscient que, sans son âme, ce n'est qu'une question de temps avant que le corps ne commence à se détériorer, Eddie se lance dans une quête désespérée d'une autre carcasse. Ses efforts s'avèrent vains et il rejoint bientôt son hôte dans l'au-delà.
Le Conclave ramène ensuite Zato, et avec lui Eddie, à la vie. La version ressuscitée d'Eddie est bien plus calme que l'originale, mais on ignore si on le doit à l'expérience de la mort ou à l'influence de son hôte. Sa relation avec Zato semble avoir changé, elle aussi.

Sapendo che, senza la sua anima, sarebbe stata solo questione di tempo prima che il corpo di Zato cominciasse a deteriorarsi, Eddie iniziò disperatamente a cercare un altro corpo. Tuttavia i suoi sforzi risultarono vani e, ben presto, segui il suo ospite nell'oltretomba.

O Conclave ressuscitou Zato e, com ele, Eddie. Não está claro se foi a experiência de morte ou talvez apenas a influência de seu hospedeiro, mas a versão revivida de Eddie é muito mais pacífica do que antes. Seu relacionamento com Zato também parece ser bem diferente.
