Full summary

The narrator gives an overview on the background of the universe, mentioning the discovery of Magic, the creation of Gears, and the Crusades that followed. Leading into the first meeting of Ky Kiske and Dizzy, their subsequent romance, and the conception of their half-Gear child Sin Kiske.

In the present, Sin deals with an aggressive bear that's been disturbing a village, as a training exercise Sol Badguy puts him in. After nearly throwing it over a cliff and getting close to attacking it head on, he realizes that the bear was looking after its cubs and thus lets them go. Afterwards, Sol reminds Sin that the ceremony to his parents' wedding is about to happen, leading the latter to run off to try and catch it before it's too late.

At the ceremony in Illyria Castle - Castle Town, in the midst of chatter among the guests over the significance of the event, Ky and Dizzy discuss their feelings before being interrupted by Johnny. He congratulates the two, and gives the latter a letter from Testament, who gives their blessings for the wedding.

Johnny steps away as Nerville Hammer approaches the pair, who immediately voices his disapproval over the whole state of affairs. Ky and Dizzy counter his arguments as their conversation quickly gets the attention of the guests, before Johnny begins a round of applause in approval of the two. Hammer leaves undeterred, but not before extending his hand for Dizzy to shake, to which his finger appears to collect a speck from her hand.

A green cloaked woman walks in right after, immediately grabbing the attention of Johnny, who proceeds to ask how she got there, while also making note that he doesn't recognize her. The figure goads him into coming closer, before he quickly grabs her arm as she makes the first jab. She backs off after being jabbed in return and disrobes herself, as she unleashes three black creatures to attack the castle.

The assailant runs off and summons her large weapon, taking aim directly at Dizzy and shooting it. After being protected by a force field, Dizzy transforms from her wedding dress into her battle outfit, with Ky removing his wedding attire to get into his battle clothes underneath. Necro and Undine are summoned, the four of them ready to fight. The figure reveals herself to be named Unika after being asked of her intentions, who then proceeds to attack the remaining party guests in the midst of her tussle with the fighters. She summons further black creatures to assist in the fight.

Dizzy sends Undine to fight against Unika, but the assailant overwhelms her and harms the two of them, enraging Necro. Johnny destroys the black creatures, as Unika continues to fight Dizzy head on. Sensing that the fight might make the latter lose control of her powers, Johnny's instincts determine that she doesn't have long before it happens. From the outside, Sin finally arrives to the area and notices the commotion, immediately worrying for his mother.

Unika summons further black creatures to detain Dizzy, insisting that the latter cannot escape her intended nature as a weapon. Ky swoops in to save her and fires energy beams from his Thunderseal, right as Necro is creating an energy sphere directly targeting Unika. Both forms of energy ends up colliding, just as Ky manages to get to Dizzy on time to embrace her. Sin enters the castle at this very moment, confused by what is happening before Johnny gets him out of the way from the ensuring force.

A bunch of crystals form around the castle, with Ky and Dizzy frozen in the center, both looking longingly at each other. Unika aims her weapon to take a blast at them, before Sin attacks her after helping Johnny up from the rubble. In their brief tussle, Sin catches a glimpse of Unika's saddened expression, before she knocks him to the ground. Johnny tries to fight Unika once more, before she summons wings and flies off.

Unika proceeds to televise a message to the world, proclaiming her intentions to save humanity by destroying both Gears and those who defend them. Among the many viewers of the broadcast is Baiken. Afterwards, Vernon has a discussion with Leo Whitefang in regards to their options on dealing with the threat of Unika. Leo decides to send Ramlethal Valentine to watch over the crystalized Ky and Dizzy, with Elphelt Valentine tagging along.

Sin runs back to Sol in Iseo, who is tinkering with a cube. Jack-O shows up to announce that their meal is ready. In the midst of feasting, Sol explains that Ky purposefully sealed himself and Dizzy into the crystal, ensuring they're safe while in stasis. Jack-O tries to dissuade Sin from pursuing Unika, but he insists that he senses hidden reasons for her actions, based internally on the glimpse of her expression during their fight.

Sol unleashes the cube, which transforms into the Fire-Wheel Mk.II. Leaving Jack-O to look after their residence, Sin and Sol go off in pursuit of Unika.

In an undisclosed location, after taking care of a few bounties, Baiken pulls out a PWAB report card of Unika, marking her as the samurai's next pursuit.
