Holy Knights' Fortress is a location and battle stage in the Guilty Gear series, appearing in Guilty Gear 2 -Overture-.

The stage was originally released as DLC content for the Xbox 360 version of the game on August 19, 2008,[1] but was made available as part of the base game with the PC release.[2]

Design

The Holy Knights' Fortress stage features a series of paths leading through the ruins of a fortress now overtaken by nature. Some of the still-standing areas of the fortress glow with green energy. The ruins are surrounded on all sides by mountainous terrain, and a waterfall feeds into a river that winds around the stage's southern edge. Like all battle stages in Overture, it has six environmental variations that can be selected between: morning, noon, evening, night, fog, and rain.

Story

Built as a base for the Sacred Order of Holy Knights, the fortress saw a great deal of bloodshed during the Crusades.[3] With the war against the Gears over, it stands abandoned and has been reclaimed by nature.
