Dizzy's Foster Parents

Dizzy's adoptive parents (育ての親, Sodate no oya?) are an elderly couple living in a village near the Forest of Demons.[1] Dizzy calls them "Grandfather and Grandmother" (おじいちゃんとおばあちゃん, Ojīchan to Obāchan?).

They found Dizzy when she was an infant, raising her as their only child. Due to her growing up at an abnormal rate, and developing wings and a tail after six months, the people of their village identified her as a Gear. To save their daughter's life, they hid her in a cave in the Forest of Demons, a place the villagers avoid due to the belief that demons live there. However, they visited Dizzy less and less over time, leaving her lonely.[2]

At some point after meeting Dizzy, Testament began to watch over the couple from a distance to make sure the "Dizzy extermination squad" wouldn't hurt them. Over time, they began to accept humans by watching the couple, and they currently live together.[3] This new life has brought Testament peace of mind.[4]

Faust Flowers

Faust Flowers are a series of flowers that appear prominently alongside Faust. They can be summoned by Faust in during certain moves such as Growing Flower and I'm a Flower. Get it? A Flower?. They feature many different faces and expressions. In -Strive-, despite being removed from Faust's moveset, they still appear in various animations and taunts.

Despite their long standing inclusion in the series, there are few times that they've been mentioned by characters outside of Faust. In Elphelt Valentine's -Strive- Arcade Mode, the triggering for Faust entering his Stage 9 Boss stage is due to his flower withering as he tries to give it to Elphelt.[6]

X Plus

Unnamed Parrot

An unnamed bird that is seen on the May Ship in Dizzy's Ending 2 in the Story Mode of Guilty Gear X Plus. It does not have any dialogue, nor is mentioned in any dialogue. It is seen while May brushes Dizzy's hair after she has been accepted as a member of the Jellyfish Pirates.[7] It is unknown what happens to it in future entries.

XX -The Midnight Carnival-

I-No's Hat

I-No's Hat (イノの帽子, Ino no Bōshi?) is a creature capable of human speech from an otherwise unspecified "demon world" (魔界, makai?) whom I-No took a liking to.[8] While it will repeat words spoken by I-No, at times it voices its own thoughts, usually causing I-No to smack it with Marlene.

XX Accent Core

Unnamed Fighter

An unnamed character that shows up in Slayer's Story Mode of the Guilty Gear XX Λ Core games. Slayer, after running into and fighting Baiken, feels reinvigorated and wants to start a new organization for fighters, settling on the term "fight club," and makes Baiken the "deputy director." During the club's first meeting, Slayer introduces himself as their leader, their purpose as a group of fighters, and announces their first target will be the Post-War Administration Bureau. This masked man, riled up by Slayer's speech, gets the crowd to burst into cheer after exclaiming there's no way they can lose.[9]

Unnamed Man

An unnamed man who briefly appears in Bridget's Story Mode in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus. A resident of Bridget's hometown, he greets her when she returns home after beating I-no. Though happy to see her, he soon informs her that her older brother has gone missing several days ago, seemingly to look for her. He also mentions her parents, but Bridget runs off before he can elaborate. [10]

While Bridget refers to this man as "Uncle", it is unclear whether this is used vocatively or if they are actually related.

Unnamed Woman

An unnamed character from Chipp Zanuff's Story Mode in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus. Chipp, alongside Venom and Baiken and some Assassin's Guild members, find her, and she claims that her husband had been "deceived by one of the top officials of the government and lost everything," named Marco, and that many other people have fallen victim to him. She urges the group to do something about the corrupt official, and the group then heads out to take care of him as the Story Mode ends.[11]

Marco

  • Occupation: Government Official

An unseen character from Chipp Zanuff's Story Mode in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus. Chipp, alongside Venom and Baiken and some Assassin's Guild members, find a woman claiming that her husband had been "deceived by one of the top officials of the government and lost everything," and says that many other people have fallen victim to him. She urges the group to do something about the corrupt official, giving them his name of Marco, and an Assassin's Guild member says that they've already located him. The group then head out to take care of him before the Story Mode ends.[11]

It is unknown if this is the same Marco that appears as in Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-.

Eddie (Child)

Eddie (エディ, Edi) is a minor character in the Guilty Gear series, appearing in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus. A young boy with blue eyes and long blonde hair, he appears in one of Venom's Story Mode paths.

Alone in the world, Eddie is quiet, shy, and hesitant, generally speaking in short sentences and often trailing off between words.[12] However, he's also quick to trust others; he answers Venom's questions and quickly agrees to accompany him despite Venom being a stranger. Though he's initially frightened and withdrawn, he appears more at ease after some time spent traveling with Venom.[13]

Sometime before or in 2181, Eddie's town burns down under unknown circumstances, his parents having presumably passed away in the incident. Finding himself all alone, Eddie wanders until he meets Venom, who has just disbanded the Assassin's Guild.[note 1] When asked by Venom what is wrong, Eddie mentions the fate of his town, and upon prodding, affirms that he has no one to go to.[12]

Venom then asks the boy if he wants to go with him, saying he "could use a companion". Eddie then asks he does for a living; Venom says he is a hustler, never staying in one place, and offers to teach him billiards. With Eddie deciding to accompany Venom, they introduce themselves.[12] On hearing Eddie's name, Venom hesitates, but finally tells him that it's a good name.

Some time later, Venom visits a pool hall with Eddie in tow, and prepares for a game as Eddie watches.[13]

He shares the same name as Eddie, the entity that lives in the shadow of Venom's mentor Zato-ONE.

Xrd

Cecile

A lab technician who appears in a flashback to 2074 in Story Mode Chapter Kaleidoscope B of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-. Labeled as "Lab Tech 1" by the game's subtitles, but referred to as Cecile in dialogue, she is with Asuka and several other research facility personnel during the Universal Will's attempt to use the Aria-infused Justice to merge the Backyard with the real world. After manually overriding Justice's, in an attempt to stop the spread of information, Asuka orders for the Gamma Ray to be fired beyond maximum output over Japan. After Cecile warns him that it'll vaporize Japan and says she can't do it, Asuka says "I'm sorry, I should never have asked you." and fires the gamma ray himself; causing the Black Sunrise.[14]

Hyori

An unseen character who Answer calls during the opening cutscene of his Episode Mode. Answer asks him to forge his passport, and tells him he plans to "take a couple days off," but is really going to investigate the Japanese Colony. Hyori is confused by this request, as "everyone already knows" Answer's face. After Answer realizes this, Hyori asks why all the important people in the Eastern Chipp Kingdom are so dumb. Later, Hyori calls Answer to see if he's uncovered anything new about the Conclave and the Universal Will.[15]

Lamee

  • Occupation: Duke

A character who briefly appears in the opening cutscene of Answer's Episode Mode. An unnamed and unseen character calls Answer to ask for help on how to reclaim his family's land. Answer says to do so, he must prove his relationship to a Duke or higher in his family within five generations. Answer, somewhat agitated, urges the caller to look at his family tree, and see that his "uncle's younger brother's first son" (cousin) is a Duke named Lamee. Answer askes why the caller doesn't know this before having to swap to another call.[15]

Frahgile

An unseen character who calls Answer during the opening cutscene of his Episode Mode. They ask Answer for advice on how to cook a good buttered chicken. After giving him the recipe, he tells them that they needs more cardamom and cumin, calling those ingredients "necessary" before having to pick up another incoming call.[15]

Unnamed Phone Operator

(guy that brings Baiken the phone call from Anji in her arcade mode)[16]

Dream Sol

A simulated version of Sol Badguy who appears in Elphelt Valentine's Episode Mode in Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-. Referred to as "???" by the game's subtitles, this version of Sol is created by Ariels and Bedman as part of a corrective program to keep her calm, and stop her from breaking herself out of the dream she's in while being used in Ariels plan to revive Justice. Dream Sol flirts with Elphelt over the course of the Arcade Mode. Elphelt eventually notices the odd differences in behavior compared to the real Sol. The system attempts to correct the behavior once more before Bedman, who cannot bear to watch the dream any further, steps in. Bedman then makes the fake Sol explode.[17]

Woof

A massive dog plush, seemingly alive, that exists within the world of Bedman's dreams.

It appears as one of the stars of Lucy and Woof of Life Amusing, the film playing at the theater within Bedman's Nightmare Theater stage. The film shows it being given as a gift to the sick child Lucy and seemingly proceeding to torment her: within the film, it has the ability to move on its own, grow and shrink in size, and grow long claws and a long tongue. In -Sign-, a massive Woof doll sits within a lake of blood just behind the theater's projection screen as the movie plays, breathing heavily. In -Revelator-, the Nightmare Theater stage has fallen to ruins and reduced Woof to a sand sculpture whose body is slowly crumbling.

As Bedman uses his enemies' nightmares as fodder for Nightmare Theater's imagery,[18] Woof may come from one of his enemy's fears, but whose or whether it is in fact drawn from a specific person's nightmares is unknown.

Strive

Dokken

Dokken is a naval officer for the United States military. He appears in briefly in the Story Mode of Guilty Gear -Strive- when the White House becomes an aircraft as a result of Project Tír na nÓg. He talks over comms to Goldlewis Dickinson, who gives him over to the orders of Millia Rage and the Post-War Administration Bureau. He pilots his jet, the "Gargoyle 3", and tracks the White House's signal.[19]

Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln is a former President of the United States of America. In the Story Mode of Guilty Gear -Strive-, Goldlewis Dickinson says to his team that if they successfully make it through the G4 Summit, that someone else will have a statue next to Lincoln's.[20] Later, while Sol Badguy is escaping Happy Chaos's soldiers with 76th President Vernon E. Groubitz, Vernon suggests that Sol use a fallen statue of Lincoln to take out a group of guards, which he then does by launching it towards the soldiers.[21]

Abraham Lincoln's statue then appears in the White House Reborn stage, seen being lifted by a crane as a construction crew works to place him back alongside statues of other US Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt.

Trivia

Abraham Lincoln is still the tallest president in American history as of Vernon's presidency.[20]

Paradox I-No

Described as a ghost of her paradox, this faceless, washed out color palette version of I-No is her past self that appears as the first opponent in her Arcade Mode, as well as appearing in Stage 7, and as her partner against Nagoriyuki in Stage 8 on the Normal route. [22]

The name "Paradox I-No" is never used in-game.

Trivia

This color is I-No's 99th color slot in the files of the game (inaccessible by the player without modding).

Shadow Nagoriyuki

Described as Nagoriyuki's inner demons taken shape, this manifestation appears as the boss for Stage 8 and 9 of Nagoriyuki's Arcade Mode. All of his dialogue is encased within parentheses. Although other people, mainly Zato-1, are able to see him, it is unknown if they are able to hear him as no one but Nagoriyuki responds to him directly. The shadow taunts Nagoriyuki to give into his vampiric instincts, which he refuses, and says that he is willing to cut down the shadow as many times as it takes.[23]

The name "Shadow Nagoriyuki" is never used in-game.

Trivia

This color is Nagoriyuki's 99th color slot in the files of the game (inaccessible by the player without modding).

Data Clone Asuka

This simulated clone created by and based off of Asuka R♯ is the Stage 8 and 9 boss of Asuka R. Kreutz's Arcade Mode. Data Clone Asuka was created without Asuka R. Kreutz's knowledge and tuned for combat by R♯ to help Kreutz find "some sort of answer."

In the ending where the player lost a round in Stage 1, Data Clone Asuka says that he's worn out and asks if the fight has led to what they wanted. Kreutz says that he hasn't figured out the purpose of the fight, but notes that all of the clones of himself have left the conclusions for others to figure out.

In the ending where the player lost a round in Stage 8, Data Clone Asuka asks to share a thought that may not have occurred to Kreutz, that thought being that Kreutz doesn't like himself, and that's why he made clones of himself with personality tweaks. Data Clone Asuka notes that, because of his personality tweaks, R♯ "realized that we’d all grow old staring at the mirror." When Kreutz asks Data Clone Asuka to rephrase it more directly, the clone vanishes. Afterwards, Kreutz says that he may understand why "Frederick and the rest" never seemed too happy talking to him.

If the player reaches Stage 9, Data Clone Asuka's limiters are disabled, with Asuka asking if the clone is out to kill him. In the Stage 9 ending, Data Clone Asuka is impressed with Kreutz's performance, and says R♯ will be delighted. Data Clone Asuka says he hasn't thought of a parting line yet before Kreutz lies down and says that he understands his master's take on existence a teeny, tiny bit more.[24]

The name "Data Clone Asuka" is never used in-game.

Trivia

This color is Asuka's 99th color slot in the files of the game (inaccessible by the player without modding).

The Robo-Ky Mk.2 Scientist

Paracelsus (Scientist)

Paracelsus (パラケルス, Parakerusu?) is the doctor who created A.B.A.

For years, Paracelsus dedicated his life to the creation of artificial life forms. His experiments were carried out at his private manor and laboratory, Frasco—a large, Western-style building located in the mountains north of a remote village. Ultimately, A.B.A ended up being the culmination of his life's work. However, before A.B.A could awaken, Paracelsus was forcibly taken away by a military organization aiming to use his skills for their own purposes.[25][26]

His whereabouts and fate since then are unknown, but A.B.A would eventually give the name "Paracelsus" to the Magical Foci Flament Nagel, after she fell in love with him.[27]

Judgment

Three-Monster Fusion

This unnamed creature, a fusion of three monsters from the other world created by Raymond,[28] serves as the boss of Judgment's first area, Liberia. The player character encounters this creature within a deserted cove at the end of an underground passage leading out of the nearby town, and must defeat it to progress to Ashnay.

Its body is a gray metallic box with three heads protruding from it: a grey-skinned humanoid with blue crystals on its scalp, cheeks, and chin, wearing a heavy blindfold; a burly, muzzled humanoid with green skin and a yellow symbol on its forehead, and a robotic being with a polished face, featureless except for a flickering red symbol. Each head is tethered to the main body with chains. Though the creature cannot move around, it can turn in place to change which head is facing the player, and each head has its own powers: the grey-skinned head controls ice, the green-skinned fire, and the robotic head earth. Each head undergoes a transformation after taking a certain amount of damage: the grey-skinned head's blindfold falls open, revealing pale white eyes; the green-skinned head's muzzle comes loose to show a mouth full of jagged teeth; and the glass of the robotic face's head shatters, with a single blood-red eye beneath.

The monster is suffering[29] and out of control[30] as a result of Raymond's forced fusion, and capable of little communication other than furious growls.

Transformed Ansect Trio

An unnamed trio of large, insectoid monsters, nearly identical in appearance but with different-colored bodies, who are fought as the boss of the Tower of Wind, the fourth area of Guilty Gear Judgment.

Raymond calls on them when confronted atop the Tower of Wind in order to buy himself enough time to escape through the gate to the other world.[31] Upon being summoned, they have the appearance of Ansects, but rapidly "hatch", bursting through their exoskeleton from the inside, to take on the form they fight the player character with. Whether this transformation is natural for them or the result of Raymond's experiments is unknown.

Initially, the player character must fight only the first of the three monsters; once it is defeated, the second and third appear and must be fought together. In addition to their physical strength, each monster has the ability to unleash swarms of insects from a tendril-filled opening on the back of its neck, and to summon armored creatures that swim through the earth and attack the player character by plunging its forelimbs into the ground.

Once all three are defeated, the player character is able to follow Raymond through the gate to the other world.[31]

Trivia

The Ansect that hatches into the first of the three boss monsters is a recolor not seen in other levels, but the second and third monsters hatch from generic, non-recolored Ansects instead.

Dante

Dante is listed as the author of the book "Comedia", which Nerville Hammer can be seen reaching for in his library as Unika asks him if targeting Illyria is necessary for their goals. This is most likely the same as the real life author of The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri.[33]
