The People's Federation of China, often referred to as the Federation of China and sometimes the Chinese Federation, is a nation within the Guilty Gear series. Its territory encompasses China and much of the rest of Asia.

Story

Background

Soon after the discovery of magic, China considered leaving the United Nations; however, it didn't wish to lose access to the newly-discovered zeal and, after talks with the Vatican, decided to remain in the UN.[2] After these talks, international relations improved, and the Federation of China remains a UN member nation[3] and on good terms with the EU today.[2]

In the aftermath of the Crusades, the Federation of China expanded both its land borders and territorial waters.[2]

During the Cradle Incident, the Federation of China is among the nations who ally with Illyria to attack the Cradle as the Conclave exits the Backyard.[4]

Guilty Gear -Strive-

The People's Federation of China is one of the four nations participating in the G4 Summit, alongside the United Kingdoms of Illyria, the United States of America, and the Oceanic Federation. The Chinese Federation's prime minister, guarded by Ming Wei, is in attendance at the White House when Happy Chaos attacks the event.[5] Ming Wei defends the politicians from attack, but is shot and badly wounded in a surprise attack by Stryper, who has fallen under Happy Chaos' control.

Daryl, Illyria's representative, is eventually able to negotiate with Happy Chaos for the release of the politicians and other G4 attendees being held hostage, including the prime minister and the injured Ming Wei.[6]

Structure

The Federation of China is one of three major world powers, alongside the United States of America and the United Kingdoms of Illyria.[3] It is the most populous nation in the world with around eight hundred million people, accounting for about 40% of the world's total population in 2187.[7] The Federation of China includes China itself as well as all parts of the Asian continent not claimed by Illyria,[8] including Uighur, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Mongolia, and Siberia.[2] The Federation of China is a member of the G4[9] and the United Nations and, alongside Illyria and the USA, contributes military forces to the UN; however, it very rarely participates in joint UN operations.[3] It also hosts at least one, and possibly multiple, of the colonies created to house Japanese survivors of Justice's attack.[10]

The Federation of China is led by a prime minister, who is guarded by at least one appointed knight.[1]

Internationally, the country is famous for its competing rival restaurants, Hyuma and Hanagata; Jam Kuradoberi first turns to bounty hunting in order to fulfill her dream of opening a restaurant that will surpass them both.[11]

Though the World Dollar is the standard international currency in 2187, yuan is still commonly used within the Federation of China.[12]
