21세기까지의 분쟁들은 대부분 종교, 사상, 인종 문제를 내걸었으나, 기본적으로는 토지의 가치를 노린 싸움이었다.
그러나 법력의 등장에 의해 세계의 생산 밸런스는 크게 변화했다.
자급력이 강화된 나라들은 느리긴 해도 사람들의 생활에 충분한 토지, 자원, 식량이 공급되게 되었고, 세계 규모의 경지화가 진행되었다. 과학기술은 쇠퇴했지만, 민도는 안정되고 있었다. 세계에 처음으로 여유가 생겨난 것이다.
오락과 문화양식은 기호품으로서 가치가 높아졌고, 산업 분야는 가치를 감추게 되어, 21세기보다 각국의 특색을 진하게 가지게 되었다.
그러나 국가 간의 세력은 수평을 유지하지는 못했다.
마법 원년 이후 자원 정의는 「질」과 「인스트루먼트※1」로 이행했고, 그 보유 수에 의해 국력에 차이가 생겼기 때문이다.
적어도 UN 산하 국가들에는 이들이 부족하지 않았으나, 꼭 평등하다고는 할 수 없는 편향도 있었다.
이 편향은 인스트루먼트의 존재 숫자가 원칙적으로 고정되어 있으며, 그 분배 판단은 UN의 배급 결의에 일임되어 있기 때문이다.
마법을 남용하는 것은 「물리적 정보 인플레이션※2」을 일으킬 위험이 있으므로 누구나 자유롭게 사용을 허가받는 것은 아니다.
또한 인스트루먼트의 개인 제작도 위법으로 국가 자격을 가진 자에게 UN과 바티칸의 품의를 통한 규격으로만 민영을 허가했다.
그들은 균등하게 분배된 것은 아니며, 주로 EU 가맹 유럽 국가들이 우선되었다.
이것은 이런 법력에 관한 정보들의 발신지가 바티칸이었기 때문이다.
이 격차에 유럽과 미국의 지배계급층 간에는 고랑이 생겨났다.
그 결과, 일부 회고적인 자들의 의도로 기어가 태어나고, 「성전」이 일어났다.
정보 전달, 교역에 지장이 생기자, 체력이 약한 나라부터 소모되어갔다.
인류가 절멸의 위기에 노출된 것은 단순한 파괴행위에 의한 것만은 아니었다.
참고로 『재기의 날(The Day of Recurrence)』 이후, 「공중 독립국가 체프」 이외에도 구과학이나 문명을 비밀리에 보유하고 있는 조직은 다수 존재했다. 솔 등의 과학자들도 이런 조직에 가담해 있었으나, UN의 지상명제에 협력 중이라 해석하고 있었다.
※1 「인스트루먼트」란 법력의 출력 규격이며, 원칙적으로는 이것을 쓰지 않고 마법을 사용할 수는 없다.

しかし、法力の登場によって世界の生産バランスは大きく変化した。
自給力が強化された国々は、緩やかではあるが人々の生活に充分な土地、資源、食料が供給されるようになり、世界規模の耕地化が進んだ。科学技術こそ衰退したものの、一方で民度は安定に向かっていった。世界に初めて余裕が生まれたのだ。
娯楽や文化様式は嗜好品としての価値を高め、産業分野は価値をひそめることとなり、21世紀よりも各国の特色を色濃く持つようになった。
しかし、国家間の勢力天秤は必ずしも水平を保っていなかった。
なぜなら、魔法元年後の資源定義は「ジール」と「インストロメント※1」に移行し、その保有数によって国力に差が出たためである。
少なくとも国連傘下諸国にこれらが不足する事は無かったが、必ずしも平等とは言えない偏りもあった。
この偏りは、インストロメント存在数が全世界で原則的に固定数であり、その分配判断が国連の配給決議に一任されていることにあった。
魔法を乱用することは「物理的情報のインフレ※2」を引き起こす危険があるため、誰しもが自由に使用を許可されていたわけではない。
また、インストロメントの個人製作も違法であり、国家資格を持つ者が国連とバチカンの稟議を通した規格のみ民営を許した。
それらはけして均等に分配されていたわけではなく、主にEU加盟のヨーロッパ諸国が優遇されていた。
というのも、これら法力に関する情報の発信地こそがバチカンであったためである。
この格差に、ヨーロッパとアメリカの支配階級層間には溝が生まれていた。
その結果、一部の懐古的な者の思惑でギアが生まれ、「聖戦」が起きた。
情報伝達、交易に支障をきたし、体力の少ない国から消耗していった。
人類が絶滅の危機にさらされたのは、単なる破壊行為によるものだけではない。
ちなみに、『再起の日（The Day of Recurrence）』以降、「空中独立国家ツェップ」以外にも旧科学や文明を秘密裏に保有している組織は多く存在した。ソル達科学者もこの組織に噛んでいたが、国連の至上命題に取り組んでいると解釈していた。
※1「インストロメント」とは法力の出力規格であり、原則的にはこれを使わずに魔法を使用することは出来ない。
音楽で例えると、「楽器」に相当する。（物理的なものではない）

Much of the conflict leading up to the 21st century was allegedly based on religion, ideology or race, but was in fact about the value of land. Nonetheless, the introduction of magic shifted the world's production balance greatly.
Countries with stronger self-support systems were able to reallocate their ample land, resources and food supplies to citizens. And while technologically the world has taken several steps back, culturally, it was becoming much more stable. For the first time in the world, there was some breathing room. More value was placed on cultural advancements, rather than its technological or manufacturing counterparts. As a result, each nation would more effectively express their wonderful cultures to the world.
Nonetheless, the international power balance would not remain level for long. That is because the very definition of energy became synonymous with zeal and Instroments *1. Thus, a nation's power was then tied to the amount of zeal to which it had access. Though the UN made zeal available to all of its signatory nations, the distribution was not necessarily equal. The amount of Instroment in the world was limited, and how it was distributed varied according to UN votes.
Abusing magic could lead to an inflation of physical information *2, so its use is not necessarily permitted freely by the government. Furthermore, making Instroment in one's own basement is illegal, and only certified producers of a nation have the ability to produce. The UN and Vatican oversee this process. Given this heavy bias and origination of technology in the Vatican, the European nations were given favorable treatment in its distribution. Result: there is now a large gap between the ruling classes in Europe and the Americas.
It wasn't long before extremists with power began the development of Gears, which led to the Crusades. Nations with poor information delivery infrastructures or trade pipelines were the first to be exhausted of resources. Mankind's endangerment was not solely the result of one's malicious will for destruction.
Furthermore, since the "Dawn of Revival," several organizations including the Independent Airborne State of Zepp attempted to keep the old sciences and cultures alive. While Sol and his research team were, to a degree, guilty of this, it was widely thought that they were operating under higher orders.
*1 Instroment is the output catalyst for magic, and as a general rule, is required to perform any type of magic. In the world of music, it would be similar to an instrument. The metaphorical "score" would be magic recipe (not physical object), and playing said score using an Instroment, would result in magic. Spells refer to the resulting phenomenon of a music score being played on an Instroment. Similar to how the same piece of music can sound very different based on the instrument or by whom it is played, the effects of magic can vary greatly on said variables.
*2 Inflation of physical information refers to the state in which information density suddenly surges as a result of abusing magic. Some call it information body flares. When using magic, people fundamentally break the law of conservation of mass, and when that exceeds the universe's allowed coefficients, the world will begin to collapse. Or so some theorize.

但是，法力的出现极大地改变了全世界的产能平衡。

另外，个人擅自制造法器也是违法的，只有持有国家认证资格的人可以在联合国和梵蒂冈承认后经营相关生意。
而这些资源也绝不是平均分配，主要由加入EU的欧洲各国占据优势地位。
不过这也是因为法力相关的东西全部源自梵蒂冈。
这种差距为欧洲和美国这两个支配阶级之间制造了一条鸿沟。
结果，一部分怀旧者制造了机兵，最终引发了“圣战”。

Länder mit stärkeren Selbstversorgungssystemen konnten ihr in Hülle und Fülle vorhandenes Land, ihre Ressourcen und ihre Nahrungsvorräte den Bürgern neu zuweisen. Während die Welt technologisch einige Schritte zurückmachte, wurde sie kulturell gesehen viel stabiler. Zum ersten Mal gab es etwas Luft zum Atmen. Es wurde mehr Wert auf kulturelle Entwicklung gelegt als auf Fortschritte bei Technologie und Produktion. Infolgedessen konnten alle Nationen ihre wunderbaren Kulturen der Welt noch besser vermitteln.
Das internationale Kräfteverhältnis würde jedoch nicht lange ausgeglichen bleiben, da die Definition von Energie selbst zum Synonym für Zeal und Instroment *1 wurde. So war die Macht einer Nation an die Menge an Zeal gebunden, zu der sie Zugang hatte. Die UN stellte zwar all ihren Unterzeichnernationen Zeal zur Verfügung, jedoch erhielt nicht jeder gleich viel. Die in der Welt verfügbare Menge an Instroment war begrenzt und seine Verteilung variierte je nach UN-Stimmen.
Der Missbrauch von Magie könnte zu einer Inflation von physischen Informationen *2 führen. Eine freie Verwendung von Magie ist daher von Regierungsseite nicht unbedingt erlaubt. Darüber hinaus ist die Herstellung von Instroment im eigenen Keller illegal. Nur zertifizierte Produzenten einer Nation dürfen Instroment herstellen. Die Vereinten Nationen und der Vatikan überwachen diesen Prozess. Angesichts dieser starken Voreingenommenheit des Vatikans und der Tatsache, dass die Technologie von dort stammte, wurden die europäischen Nationen bei der Verteilung bevorzugt behandelt. Infolgedessen gibt es eine große Kluft zwischen den herrschenden Klassen in Europa und Amerika.
Es dauerte nicht lange, bis mächtige Extremisten mit der Entwicklung von Gears begannen, was zu den Kreuzzügen führte. *2 Die Inflation physikalischer Informationen bezieht sich auf den Zustand, in dem die Informationsdichte infolge des Missbrauchs von Magie plötzlich ansteigt. Manche nennen diese Ereignisse Informationsentladungen. Wenn Menschen Magie wirken, brechen sie den Massenerhaltungssatz. Wenn dieser die zulässigen Koeffizienten des Universums überschreitet, beginnt die Welt zu kollabieren – so vermuten zumindest einige.
Los países con sistemas autosuficientes más potentes consiguieron reubicar su tierra, sus recursos y sus suministros de comida en dirección a los ciudadanos. Puede que el mundo retrocediera varios pasos tecnológicamente hablando, pero culturalmente se volvió mucho más estable. Les pays dotés de systèmes d'aide forts ont pu redonner terres, ressources et nourriture aux citoyens. L'abus de magie peut entraîner une inflation d'informations physiques *2. Les gouvernements ne la laissent donc pas toujours libre d'utilisation. Il est aussi illégal de créer soi-même des instroments ; seuls les fabricants certifiés y sont autorisés. L'ONU et le Vatican supervisent le processus. Les pays européens se sont toujours vus bénéficier d'un traitement de faveur, en raison de cette place privilégiée du Vatican vis-à-vis de la technologie. Un écart important s'est donc creusé entre les classes dirigeantes européennes et américaines.
Il n'a pas fallu bien longtemps pour que les extrémistes les plus puissants se mettent à développer des Gears, ouvrant la porte aux Croisades. Les nations dotées d'infrastructures de transmission de l'information ou de canaux commerciaux qui laissaient à désirer ont été les premières à court de ressources. La quasi-destruction de l'humanité n'était pas seulement le résultat d'une entité à la volonté dévastatrice.
En outre, depuis l'Aube du renouveau, plusieurs organisations, dont l'État aérien indépendant de Zepp, ont tenté de conserver les sciences et les cultures d'antan. Sol et son équipe n'étaient pas non plus innocents en la matière, bien que l'opinion publique soit convaincue qu'ils agissaient sur des ordres venus de plus haut.
*1 Les instroments sont des catalyseurs magiques qui sont le plus souvent nécessaires pour produire de la magie. Pour prendre une allégorie musicale, ce sont comme des instruments. Sebbene l'ONU rendesse disponibile lo Zeal a tutti i paesi firmatari, la sua distribuzione non era necessariamente equa. La quantità di Stromento nel mondo era limitata e il modo in cui veniva distribuito variava a seconda delle votazioni delle Nazioni Unite.
Abusare della magia potrebbe condurre a un'inflazione di informazioni fisiche *2, quindi il governo non permette che si usi liberamente. Inoltre, produrre Stromento a casa propria è illegale e solo produttori certificati dallo stato possono occuparsene. L'ONU e il Vaticano ne supervisionano il processo. Considerando la pesante parzialità e le origini della tecnologia nel Vaticano, le nazioni europee hanno ricevuto un trattamento di favore nella sua distribuzione. Risultato: ora esiste un grande divario tra le classi dirigenti in Europa e nelle Americhe.
Non passò molto prima che estremisti dotati di potere iniziassero lo sviluppo dei Gear, il che portò alle Crociate. Le nazioni con deboli infrastrutture per la distribuzione delle informazioni o percorsi commerciali furono le prime a esaurire le risorse. La possibile estinzione dell'umanità non era esclusivamente dovuta alla voglia di distruzione di una mente criminale.
Inoltre, dall'"Alba del Risveglio", diverse organizzazioni, tra cui lo Stato Aereo Indipendente di Zepp, hanno cercato di tenere in vita le vecchie scienze e culture. Mentre Sol e la sua squadra di ricerca ne erano, in certa misura, colpevoli, era ampiamente risaputo che operassero seguendo ordini superiori.
*1 Lo Stromento è un catalizzatore di reazione per la magia e, in linea generale, è necessario per eseguire qualsiasi tipo di magia. Può essere assimilato a uno strumento musicale: la metaforica "partitura" sarebbe una ricetta magica (non un oggetto fisico) e, suonata con lo Stromento, si esegue la magia. Gli incantesimi sono il fenomeno risultante da una partitura musicale suonata con uno Stromento. Analogamente a come una stessa partitura può suonare diversamente a seconda dello strumento usato o di chi lo suona, gli effetti della magia possono variare in base a queste variabili.
*2 L'inflazione di informazioni fisiche fa riferimento allo stato in cui la densità d'informazione aumenta improvvisamente in seguito all'abuso di magia. Qualcuno la chiama bolla informativa. Quando si usa la magia, fondamentalmente si infrange la legge di conservazione della massa e, quando questa supera i coefficienti ammessi dall'universo, il mondo inizia a collassare. O così è stato ipotizzato.
