Guilty Gear Wiki is a wiki focusing on the Guilty Gear franchise, a series of Japanese fighting games developed by Arc System Works that began in 1998 with the release of the original Guilty Gear. It is an encyclopedia dedicated to collecting information about all its entries, from elements of storyline to gameplay. Though commonly called The Guilty Gear Wiki, this wiki is not affiliated with the publishers of Guilty Gear, Arc System Works, or series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari in any way. Overview

The Guilty Gear Wiki was founded by Beyond-The-Dark-Life in 2008. From 2009 to 2010, the wiki was heavily edited by Piconoe and has been a source of information for fans since then. However, the wiki fell into a dormant state and was plagued by unnecessary edits and subjective information. In September 2011, Danseru-kun and Remnant13 began mass editing to improve the wiki, adding templates, rules and more categories, with further revitalization efforts beginning September 2020 by long-time editor JustAToucan and ShiroxCloud. This wiki owes a great deal to the incredible amount of time, effort, and passion put into it by these editors. Thank you for keeping the spirit of Guilty Gear's universe alive.

From its founding in 2008, the wiki was hosted by the privately owned for-profit Delaware company, Wikia, before rebranding as "Fandom powered by Wikia" in 2016. In 2018 Wikia was acquired by TPG Inc, remaining under the "Fandom powered by Wikia" name until 2019 when it fully branded itself as "Fandom." In November of 2023, the Guilty Gear Wiki forked from Fandom and is now hosted by wiki.gg. After several months of reorganizing and rewriting, the new Guilty Gear Wiki opened to the public on March 25, 2024.

The Guilty Gear Wiki aims to be the go-to database about the world of Guilty Gear that is objective, credible, and complete. Its main focus lies on the universe, story and characters of Guilty Gear more than on its gameplay. It primarily covers the official English translation, but also aims to provide translations from its original language, Japanese.
