Harkness

Where is mentioned that his last name is Harkness? Loutre 19:05, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

Can't find any source or proof of it so I removed it.  Remnant13TalkFile:Sol Badguy Chibi.png 19:07, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
It calls him that in the PAL region Accent Core + booklet. I can take a scan if you'd like. 86.4.155.166 01:33, January 9, 2012 (UTC)
For the interest of the conversation, and references, I say... (unsigned)

Preceding this 2011 comment, I noticed a thread related to this on GameFAQs in 2010 lamenting "The internet is telling me Bridget's last name is Harkness" but I'm not sure what it was responding to.

This page's history only goes back as far as 8 October 2018 saying "Undo revision 25835 by Giovannifelix1 (talk)" so I'm not sure how to check data that existed prior to this point, to see if anyone might have inserted that information that the FAQ might have responded to.

Wikipedia's goes back to 2005 so that might be the best place to look for the name possibly originating in fancruft. I don't know if there's some efficient way to search the source logs on each version for that surname though. Tycio (talk) 04:51, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

01:17, 10 August 2022 JustAToucan deleted page Talk:Bridget

Pronouns

As stated before deleting the previous page, Bridget is confirmed canon trans with she/her pronouns. You do not have to like how it is handled, but it is canon, Please respect that. JustAToucan (talk) 01:19, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

Bridget is Trans, specifically Male using Female Pronouns and clothing.

So Yah I was doing some digging around, and came Across this. https://youtu.be/yTDZJhzk-HY

Then did some more digging, and found this. https://youtu.be/Z16QL9GOdgI

Where the developers themselves say Bridget is male, using female pronouns and clothes.

You're Welcome.

I'm not even sure what this means? I saw plenty of videos and articles supporting it at this point. Just curious as to why it's still being brought up almost a year later. JustAToucan (talk) 23:37, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

If Bridget was a girl or a boy, then why is it trans? They called Testament them, but not Bridget? This isn't the close making sense tbh.

(Strive) Bridget's Symbol

The article at the time of writing this describes ⚨ (U+26A8) as only the androgyny symbol. But I think the correct character is ⚦ and that it can also be a transgender symbol. Japanese news articles such as the TBS interview with the directors and ItMedia's article on the character refer it as the transgender symbol. Looking more into it, ⚦ is referred to as "Male with Stroke Symbol" and U+26A6. And the transgender meaning can be found tracing back to the Unicode's symbol chart. Looking back at the TBS interview, I should have clarified that not only does the article itself refer to the symbol as a Transgender symbol, but Daisuke also refers to it as the Transgender symbol and his intention in changing Bridget's old male symbol to it in her redesign. Nun

Noticed interesting claim in a 2018 article at https://www.animefeminist.com/discourse-if-the-belt-fits-the-battle-for-trans-characters-in-fighting-games/

Born as an identical twin in a village that exiles or executes them based on superstition, Bridget was raised as a girl by a local nun, prompting the nun outfit, longer hair, and feminine mannerisms.

Does anyone recall where this "local nun" idea originated? Trying to find the source material, if any. Possibly fancruft? Tycio (talk) 19:44, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

From what I gather, Bridget's nun design was more or less inspired by the character Rosette from Chrono Crusade. There isn't anything regarding her being raised by a nun in canon. Just her being raised as a girl because of the town's weird anti-twin boys stance.JustAToucan (talk) 20:27, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

I guess Nangland could've just made it up in 2018, or thought he remembered hearing a rumor about it but got his wires crossed. Tycio (talk) 00:11, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Fairy Hamet

I'd like if "Origin" could be edited to list this next to "England".

Fairy Hamet is the name of the village Bridget is from, you see it written outside the treehouse in the XX ending involving a return home looking for Bridget's brother. Tycio (talk) 03:52, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

I'm not too sure that's strong evidence showing that Bridget's origin is Fairy Hamet. The backgrounds are from the game's stages and seem to be simply reused resources for story mode to use as backdrops during dialogue. To an extent, perhaps certain backgrounds are chosen to best fit the scenario. But otherwise, I wouldn't hold them up to be exact canon locations. For instance, Bridget fights Zato on the Fairy Hamet stage earlier in the same story mode path. But that wouldn't make sense if we were to take it as her village, as in the ending you mentioned, she only arrives back home then. Whalord123 (talk) 08:09, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
