Central Organ Tower

Central Organ Tower is a location and battle stage in the Guilty Gear series, appearing in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- and Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- as Elphelt Valentine's battle stage.

Design

The stage is set in the ruins of an opulent building within the heart of Illyria, with the roof torn away and the floor and walls turned to rubble. Sunlight streams through the crumbling columns. In Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- the stage is lit with pale, pinkish lighting, and the fallen head and shoulders of an enormous marble statue fills the sky above the ruins. In Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- the stage is largely unchanged, but has a dimmer and more yellow color palette. The toppled statue is no longer visible in the stage's background, and a number of tattered red flags wave amidst the wreckage. A flock of pigeons perch atop a nearby piece of rubble.

Story

Background

The Central Organ Tower comprises the structure west of Illyria Castle and surrounding area. Prior to its destruction, it served as a facility to redirect and harness St. Elmo's Fire for the protection of the Illyrian people.[1]

Guilty Gear Xrd

During the Cradle Incident, the Central Organ Tower is destroyed by the battle with Justice and the outpouring of energy from St. Elmo's Fire.[1] In the aftermath, Sin and Sol are relieved to find Elphelt amid the rubble; however, she's been taken over by her mother's programming and reveals to the two that she was sent as a sleeper agent to monitor Sol.[2] Though the awakened Elphelt is cold and emotionless, Sol's able to break through her programming and return her emotions to her by triggering her memories of her time spent among humanity. Now herself again, but still unable to disobey Ariels' orders, Elphelt decides to self-destruct to prevent herself from being used as Ariels' tool. Before she can, Ramlethal appears and tells her not to give up, promising to save her from Ariels' clutches. A tearful Elphelt agrees to wait for a rescue, smiling at the group before she's forcibly teleported back to her mother's side. With Elphelt gone, Sol begins preparations for a rescue mission.[2]

Some time later, Chronus awakens within the destroyed tower. As he reflects on being the last surviving member of the Conclave, he's approached by Faust, who questions him about the Conclave's plan for the people of the Japanese colonies. Through this, Chronus realizes that Ariels has been acting behind the Conclave's back and has motivations for the creation of an Absolute World beyond what she told them.[2]
