Zappa's own and unique method of determining the likelihood of a spiritual phenomena's occurrence. There are categories, ZO through Z6, and the higher the number, the higher the likelihood of an occurrence.

Note, this scale will only determine the likelihood of an occurrence. For example, if the Zappa scale reads Z5, then it is extremely likely that an event will be observed. However, the scope of the event is not certain, and nor is its effects on the surrounding areas.

By that same logic, if the Zappa scale coefficient is small, and an event does occur, it means the Information Flare's rate of expansion is exceeding the observable rate. These types of flares are considered most dangerous, and the ramifications can be deadly.

Bear in mind, however, this is not a commonly adopted scale, but now Randy and some select Illyrian researchers understand it.
