죽을병에 걸린 아리아의 치료법을 찾을 시간을 벌기 위해,
그리고 치료 후 그녀가 솔과 같은 시간을 보낼 수 있도록, 두 사람에게 기어 세포를 이식했다.
시간이 흐르자, 군이 아스카의 연구에 개입하기 시작한다.

성전이 발발하자 기어의 창조자로 알려진 그는 기어 메이커, 그리고 모든 것의 원흉인 마왕이라 비난받았다.
다른 시대・다른 장소에 다른 이름・다른 모습으로 나타났음에도 불구하고
인물상이 어느 개인의 언동과 일치했으므로, 이 불특정다수의 존재들이 「그 남자」로 일원화되어 불리게 되었다.
아스카의 본래의 목적은 2가지.
하나는 솔에게서 「배덕의 불꽃」을 없애고 인간으로 되돌려, 아리아와 함께 인간으로서의 시간을 걷게 하는 것.
그리고 또 하나는 사상이나 이익이 개입하지 않는 바르고 투명한 숫자를 관측하여 세계에 전함으로써 세계평화를 실현시키는 것이다.
그는 그 숫자가 언젠가 「선의의 집적」이라 불리기를 바라고 있다.

死の病を患ったアリアの治療法を模索する時間を稼ぐため、

やがて時が経ち、飛鳥の研究に軍部が介入し始める。
ギアの軍事運用を回避しようとした飛鳥はアリアを素体として、
全てのギアを指令下に置ける完成型ギア「ジャスティス」を開発した。
しかし、人類の絶滅を目論む慈悲なき啓示の介入によってジャスティスは暴走。
聖戦が勃発し、ギアの生みの親とされる彼はギアメーカー、そして全ての元凶である魔王と誹られた。
異なる時代・異なる場所に異なる名前・異なる容姿で現れているにも関わらず、
その人物像がある一個人の言動と一致することから、この不特定多数の存在が「あの男」と一元化して呼ばれるようになった。
飛鳥の本来の目的は二つ。
一つはソルから「背徳の炎」を消し去ることで彼を人間に戻し、アリアと共に人としての時間を歩ませること。
そしてもう一つは、思想や利益が介入しない正しく透明な数字を観測し世界に伝えることによって、世界平和を実現させることである。
彼はその数字がいつの日か「善意の集積」と呼べることを願っている。

Asuka was a researcher and best friend to Sol and Aria, with whom he collaborated in the Gear project.
Upon learning about Aria's incurable disease, he implanted Gear cells into her in order to buy time to seek a cure. He did the same to Sol to increase his longevity so that he could spend time together with Aria once she was cured.
As time passed, the military began to intervene in Asuka's research. To circumvent the military use of Gears, Asuka developed "Justice," a complete Gear capable of bringing all other Gears under its command, using Aria as a medium.
The Universal Will, whose goal is the extinction of the human race, saw this as an opportunity and intervened, causing Justice to run amok.
This brought forth the Crusades, and as the Gears' supposed creator, Asuka was branded as the Gear Maker and also became known as the source of all evil, the Devil.
Despite men of different names and appearances appearing in different times and places, the personalities of those men matched the words and actions of a single individual, and those unspecified number of beings came to be uniformly referred to as "That Man."
Asuka has 2 main objectives. The first is to remove the "Flame of Corruption" from Sol and convert him back into a human so that he can live out the rest of his life with Aria as an ordinary human being. The other is to bring about world peace by observing and sharing the number of different occurrences happening worldwide, without any bias towards any ideology or profits.
He hopes that one day, he will be able to call these numbers the "Accumulation of Good Will."

Asuka war ein Forscher und der beste Freund von Sol und Aria, mit denen er zusammen am Gear-Projekt arbeitete.
Als er von Arias unheilbarer Krankheit erfuhr, implantierte er ihr Gear-Zellen, um Zeit für die Suche nach einem Heilmittel zu gewinnen. Sol unterzog er der gleichen Prozedur, um seine Lebenserwartung zu erhöhen, damit er Zeit mit Aria verbringen kann, sobald sie in der Zukunft geheilt ist.
Im Laufe der Zeit begann das Militär, sich in Asukas Forschungen einzumischen. Um den militärischen Einsatz von Gears zu verhindern, entwickelte Asuka „Justice“, eine vollständige Gear, die in der Lage war, alle anderen Gears unter ihre Kontrolle zu bringen. Er nutzte dabei Aria als Medium.

Obwohl verschiedene Männer mit unterschiedlichen Namen und Erscheinungsbildern zu verschiedenen Zeiten und an verschiedenen Orten auftraten, stimmten die Persönlichkeiten dieser Männer mit den Worten und Handlungen eines einzigen Individuums überein. Diese unbestimmte Anzahl von Wesen wurde als „That Man“ bezeichnet.
Asuka verfolgt 2 Hauptziele.

Asuka era un investigador y el mejor amigo de Sol y Aria, con quienes colaboró en el proyecto Gear.

C'est le début des Croisades. Asuka, qu'on pense être le créateur des Gears, devient aux yeux de tous le Père des Gears, une créature maléfique, le Diable incarné.
À différentes époques et dans divers lieux, plusieurs personnes apparaissent, dont les actions et les paroles semblent identiques. Ces êtres sont appelés collectivement « That Man ».
