AWB

Yeah, it's probably a UCP issue. I haven't tried using bots on UCP myself yet, but I have seen other people talking about issues. I thought it was mentioned that the issues had been resolved recently, but I might be mistaken.

One thing that might be wrong with the bot is if you didn't check the "Edit existing pages" box in the Bot Password settings. That will cause it to keep restarting.
There isn't any sort of flag or something that identifies the top-level category, it's just the one that all other categories should eventually lead back to if you keep clicking the categories' categories. I moved the main page over and deleted Browse, so it should be done.

Do you have a Discord account? Unfortunately, talk page notifications don't work on the UCP yet and it makes it difficult to communicate here.

-Strive- category

Regarding GGST categories, wouldn't it make more sense to name them as "Guilty Gear -Strive-" rather than just "Guilty Gear STRIVE"? On the official ArcSystem Works website + Twitter account and PSN Store, the game has been referred to as "Guilty Gear -Strive-". On the arcsystemworks YouTube channel, Strive is only capitalized since the rest of the title is also capitalized so it's "GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-" (this applies to the Steam page as well as @GUILTYGEAR_PR on Twitter). The only time GGST has been referred to as "Guilty Gear STRIVE"/"Guilty Gear -STRIVE-" would be this Wikia to my knowledge. Thus, I tried renaming the GGST categories to "Guilty Gear -Strive" to make it more consistent, but you seem to be against the idea since you rename all the GGST categories back to "Guilty Gear Strive". I asked MamaNana about it too in the GG Lore Discord too and she said that it'd probably works more as well for consistency sake.
Shreeder4092 18:54, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi! While I'm aware that we've spelt -STRIVE- like, well, like this instead of the "official" way... I'm just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ since I prefer it this way. We don't spell Overture, -SIGN-, -REVELATOR-, or REV 2's (etc.?) names in the "official" way either. I think we could rename the game's article, but here's the thing: Somebody's got to change every single instance of the spelling -STRIVE- to -Strive- (along with the other games) throughout the entire wiki. It's not enough with just changing the article's name. For categories, it's the same principle, which means going over images as well, but on this I won't "budge"(???) since I'd rather category names do not have hyphens/parentheses on their names unless absolutely necessary. Frankly, I don't see the point at all, since the wiki has more pressing needs.
As for leaving message on user talks, I'll tell you not to forget to create a new topic and always sign with " ~~~~ ". You can also personalize your signature on your Preferences. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 19:53, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
Hello again! If you'd like, I could go over each of the category, images and article's spellings and rename them to be more accurate. I wouldn't mind going over the effort for it since I want to help with updating the Wikia. The category one is understandable though and thank you on clarifying the reason for it! Thank you as well for the advice on leaving messages on user talks! User:Shreeder4092 22:52, 1 March 2021‎ (UTC)
Can't say that I agree, but you can do that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think story sections, lore and gameplay-related articles are far more important, but... :P
Sorry to nag you, but just type ONLY ~~~~ at the end of your message, and your username and timestamp will appear automatically when you post the edit. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 23:51, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
Ah thank you for the permission! Don't worry though I'm going to work on story/lore/gameplay-related articles as well. So far, I've created the Force Break page and updated the GGST command lists (while creating Nagoriyuki and Giovanna's moveset), updated the Millia Page info (it previously stated that she was born with her powers) and am now working on creating the Arcade Mode and Story Mode pages. I'll do my best with updating the Wikia! Also thank you again for the correction! Shreeder4092 (talk) 00:48, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Article Parent tab code

Hello, could you add Article parent tab section .css code to MediaWiki:Common.css to make this template to work? This will allow to place buttons on top of, for example, Character article for Gallery, Commands, Gameplay and etc subbages. Here example how it looks. The code will be needed to tweaked a bit to make buttons look to match wiki style.

Thank you. — Bloodhit (talk) 12:30, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

I'm terribly sorry, but since tabs do not properly work on mobile, we don't use them on this wiki, and even then, the context-link templates are more than enough for our subpages. Please do not add the tabs into the articles. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 13:06, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
They work just fine on mobile, they look just like normal links on mobile. Are not mistaken them for tabber/tabview? These are they one that don't work on mobile. — Bloodhit (talk) 13:18, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
I know the difference between, but appearing as normal links on top doesn't cut it. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 14:49, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
Is it really that much better to have random "See also: /Gallery" and etc in the middle of article, than buttons on top, that looks like list of links on mobile? Personally, it's been really hard to navigate this wiki articles for me, because there no proper unified navigation for for subpages. It's the only reason I brought the topic of adding buttons in the first place. — Bloodhit (talk) 15:01, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
Hard to navigate? First I hear of it. I guess, I'd need more data on that.
Nevertheless, as the other admin (JustAToucan) would tell you, this is pretty much a lore-centric wiki. I have been working quite a bit so that gameplay is included, but those subpages aren't important per se. I like working on command subpages, for example, but they're more like 'curiosities', really. At least, for the moment. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 19:45, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

"Spoiler Policy"

Hello, i wanted to talk with you about the now-deleted "Deceased Characters" category, my problem is not the policy but the people asking for a character who died to join Strive which that policy is confusing over all to people who are new to the Guilty Gear lore.

So my question is "why to keep that policy here"? We should let people know who can keep returning (retired or deceased, over all the latter) so they can pick characters to ask for their addition to Strive or any Crossover they will have in the future wisely.

Thanks for reading and i hope we come to a conclusion to that situation. TheProjectXZoneFan1997 (talk) 16:55, 12 March 2021‎ (UTC)

I see. However, if they are new to the lore and they haven't bothered to read/investigate/watch/play/whatever, the policy isn't to blame for "confusing" them. It's their lack of knowledge about the series, which is rather easy to fix. Furthermore, in fighting games, being dead doesn't preclude their return: after all, Kliff and Justice both died in GG, but returned in GGX+ and GGXX. A character being dead means nothing if the devs want them in.
Also, please don't forget to sign your messages with ~~~~ at the end. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 19:45, 12 March 2021 (UTC)

File name change request

Can you change the name of the file "File:E2N6MKAVcAAr775.jpg" to "GGST countdown I-No"? — Hassantaleb4 (talk) 14:19, 29 May 2021‎ (UTC)

Sure, no problem! :) However, I'm sure normal users can rename file, too, since the UCP upgrade? -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 16:10, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Re: Requests

Hey, thanks for the message. For your first question, the answer is yes, you can import custom external fonts pretty easily as long as they're on Google Fonts. Just follow the steps on Help:How to import Google Fonts to import it. Then, in a CSS file, you will want to apply the font to a specific class. If you want to change headers then that would be:

.WikiaArticle h2,
.WikiaArticle h3,
.WikiaArticle h4,
.WikiaArticle h5,
.WikiaArticle h6 {
	font-family: <the font you just imported>
}

The selectors are actually different on the new FandomDesktop skin though, so you will want to make sure you account for that. I believe you would just replace .WikiaArticle with .page-content, per Help:FandomDesktop preparation guide.

As for your second question, the answer is probably yes, but I'll just double-check first.

P.S. you can also message me on Discord if that's easier for you (Atvelonis#9495). —Atvelonis (talk) 01:53, 3 June 2021 (UTC)

Megumi

Your article on Megumi is inconsistent. Megumi and I-No are not one in the same. Megumi is a younger alternate timeline version of I-No. I-No is not the Megumi from the same timeline as Axl. Axl is an alternate timeline version of Will. —Gman18 [unsigned]

Look, I can't say I'm an expert on this. I've yet to...uh, solidify... my read on the issue. (Might need a third or fourth rewatch for that, unless GG World explicitly says otherwise, but I'd need a screenshot of that, I guess.) And even so, it's hard to put it on words.
But Axl and I-No are not alternate versions of Will and Megumi. They are the same individuals: I-No said they took on "new names" at one point, so they likely were born as Axl & 'Ino' and adopted the names Will & Megumi because, well, love. In the epilogue, Megumi does know the Axl name, so uh... Anyway, I-No doesn't remember his face, just that he had golden locks; it's not unreasonable to conclude that she couldn't remember Will's original name, i.e. Axl.
Megumi and Axl hail from an alternate timeline, which is called a "broken future"/"possibility" by Jack-O', or a "plausible past" when Axl explains things to Sol. (When did the 'split' happen, if there ever was one? No idea; maybe in 1998, but since both Axl and I-No have "no past, no future", perhaps even before their time. It might be related to The Original's discovery of the Backyard... or to the Backyard's "first crisis". Anyway, it's probably a timeline where the Dawn of Revival and everything thereafter never happened, i.e. no Guilty Gear series.) Axl only 'survived' the timeline divergence because of the ID overlap, whereas Megumi got to live her life after that*(for how long? no idea, lel), waiting for Axl, and became a part of the new timeline as a "vagabond" because the Backyard randomly picked her to be a Magical Foci, making her a "causal anomaly" (and Axl, by extension). During the process and the trauma, her memories became "fuzzy". But those events happened to I-No, just as they happened to Axl.*(It's the world that doesn't remember those events.) And so, the tragedy: A cynical, self-centered Megumi realizes too late that Will was there all along.
I think Arcade Mode implies that I-No says that her "past self" (who has heard the I-No name before) is in the present because of a "paradox", and that's how she swaps places. But uh, yeah, I need a full script asap.

Message

With the main characters and the stories of the two franchises over, when do you think we'll receive a Guilty Gear and BlazBlue crossover? HassanTNT (talk) 21:46, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Question

When do you think that Guilty Gear Strive would come to Nintendo Switch? -- HassanTNT (unsigned)

Can the Switch handle Strive? ...Anyway, I don't think they re-release a "current" game for platforms other than the PlayStation and PC, since they haven't done for any of the Xrd games, but I might wrong given its newfound popularity. Maaaaybe when Season 1 is done next year(?), but I seriously doubt it.

Zato's Page

thank you for catching those edits. I know a few people who dislike Zato enough to say things like that, so I feel it's best to keep an eye on his page for any further weird inserts. JustAToucan (talk) 23:22, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, it struck me as a troll edit. (Also, that's not how the policy is supposed to work, lel.) -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 11:00, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Official art source

Where did you source highres shadow-free GGST character key art from (e.g. File:Jack-O Guilty Gear Strive.png)? Thanks in advance.

Creating Gear Maker Page

Should Gear Maker-related info move to Gear Maker page, while leaving That Man as a disambiguation page?

& what to do w/ the Original's nationality, due to Chaos spoiler on Strive (NOTE: This is previous revision prior to undid & felt needing spoiler code to hide spoilers)? https://guilty-gear.fandom.com/wiki/The_Original?diff=46280&oldid=46183

-- November 30, 7:00+, 4:40 PM, ScottKazama (talk)

Hi! :) I'm leaving the page as is, because historically Asuka has been "That Man" for, like, 20 years (the 'Gear Maker' moniker is relatively recent, and even then, his name tag in Story Mode in Xrd is 'That Man' anyway) and because disambiguation pages are created only when there are three or more articles with a similar topic name. (I didn't know this myself until relatively recently, lel, so that's why we had 'bad' disambiguation pages.) Instead, the "youmay" box is there to disambiguate things.
I think nationality or birthdays don't count as spoilers because they're not plot relevant. I think they should be included in the infobox.-- ShiroxCloud(talk) 17:09, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Page Protections Follow Up

Hi ShiroxCloud,

This is Lucas, one of Fandom's Community Managers reaching out.

Since you've flipped commenting back on and further raised protections on Bridget's character page, I'm guessing you saw that I locked the page to Admin only edits, lol.

Please let me know if you have any questions about best practices in this kind of situation, would be happy to help however I can!

Thanks and have a good one.

About Bridget

There's inaccuracies on Bridget page. The info on the page keeps trying to skew him to being a girl because of the recent story debacle, but nobody is mentioning that this is a detail from the bad ending and is thus non-canon. Because the page is locked, I cannot add that the good "Flawless" ending keeps him an otokonoko, or Tomgirl if you will. Can you please add it back in and change all the details back to how they were? The media coverage has been skewing things in the wrong direction, obscuring vital details.

--unsigned -- Samalik (talk) 17:12, 10 August 2022‎ (UTC)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I can't promise anything, but I'll be overhauling the page soon. I will look into the issue then.

Hi there, I can confirm from research that Bridget only says they are a girl during the bad ending, and does not mention anything to do with this during the flawless ending. This is coming from a trans MtF person myself and I believe the wiki should mention both that Bridget is male in the Flawless ending and female in the bad end as this would clear up confusion and reduce heated tensions in the community and people can then enjoy strive together again. For the rest of the wiki a solution I would like to suggest is to just use "they/them" pronouns for Bridget's story as it doesn't fall to ether side of the debate and keeps things neutral. Forced representation is something that only creates toxicity especially when it is false for some routes. Sorry for the message, I just wanted to add some incite from a trans person on this subject. I hope you all have a nice day and enjoy strive :) ps im new to wiki commenting so sorry if mess anything up. Girlyillya166 (talk) 22:28, 11 August 2022 (UTC)

Bridget is officially confirmed to be trans (https://www.guiltygear.com/ggst/en/news/post-1657/). They also mocked the "bad ending" argument, stating that 'although the difficulty and story dialogue of Arcade Mode change depending on your match results, this doesn't change the main plot, nor are there alternative endings such as "good" or "bad"' --Underfell Flowey (talk) 18:40, 14 September 2022 (UTC)

Bridget's English voice actor

Hey can you do me a favor and add Bridget's English VA to her page. Her English VA's name is Kelly Ohanian. Thanks.

regarding possible future unlocking of talk pages

Talk:Bridget was locked August 10th and I'm not able to contact Toucan since their user page is also locked. You're the only active sysop here so seem like the only person to ask.

Is there some timeline at which a talk page being opened for Bridget could be considered in the future?

It looks like the previous page was deleted (ie history wiped) because people were having arguments about gender and stuff, but perhaps if gender were a banned topic and the talk page was only allowed for use regarding non-gender issues (ie what do we know about Bridget's brother or parents) it could serve a purpose? Need assistance on Bedman? wiki gallery section

Hello! I hope you are having a good day!

I recently got into guilty gear and been keeping up with wiki for a couple weeks now? I'm quite new to how the fandom wiki works so there are a couple of mistakes I've made. In Bedman? wiki I had recently added their chibi art but I forgot to change the original file name as well as categorize it (the directions for categorizing confused me).

I also found official concept art of Bedman? but I wanted to message you first before I make more of a mess

Looking forward to your responses

Regarding Asuka/That Man

With the recent release of the Strive DLC, shouldn't we rename/move That Man to Asuka R. Kruetz?

As while historically speaking, That Man has been his title/name for the past 20 years since his first appearance, he was introduced into Strive as Asuka, and as such, he's now being referred to by said name more so than his title.

-- NekoSel0 13:52, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

It's spelled "Kreutz"

Just wanted to clear the slight error in how NekoSel0 types the name. Asuka R. Kreutz.

Alternatively, the character page itself can also be redirected from Asuka R#, regarding one of his magical clones, if you could, thank you.WizzyULTIMATEbreed (talk) 16:54, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for your correction, now I'm gonna go tear my hair out and correct my edits. DX - NekoSel0 21:31, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

MingWeiFan68

Hi, i want to solve a problem related to that user.

You see, i am trying to put a trivia about a similar appearance to the RWBY character Tyrian Callows in the Ming Wei article and that user just WON'T let me put that in, he's just acting like a "cop" towards the article of his favourite character, causing an edit warring to ensue because of that.

If you can help me stopping him from being so protective about that article, i'd appreciate it.

Best regards. TheProjectXZoneFan1997 (talk) 16:18, 23 November 20213 (UTC)

Hello. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. However, while it's true that I sense some overprotectiveness, I agree with said user in that I really don't see much of a resemblance to Tyrian Callows. Even if Ishiwatari knows about RWBY, Ming Wei looks like generic Asian character #232457. I think a lot more is needed than some general traits to imply an inspiration. -- ShiroxCloud(talk) 01:38, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
