"Ni no Kuni is a series of role-playing video games developed and published in Japan by Level-5; Bandai Namco publishes the games outside Japan. The first games in the series chiefly follow the young Oliver, and his journey to another world to save his mother and stop the beckoning evil. The sequel follows Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, a boy king who is usurped from his castle, and sets out to reclaim his kingdom. The games utilize several magic elements, allowing players to use magical abilities during gameplay, and follow groups of characters travelling the fantasy world to put an end to its threats."
Anji Mito is a recurring character in the Guilty Gear series. A curious man of Japanese descent who strives to uncover the secrets which That Man has kept from his people. Armed with both the magic-amplifying fans known as Zessen and his indomitable charm, he fled from his Colony in order to pursue the truth. His dance is unrivaled and finely honed, and he incorporates such aspects of fluid motion into his attacks.
Story
Background
Little is known about Anji's past. A descendant of pure Japanese ancestry, Anji was raised in one of the colonies. Due to the destruction of Japan by Gear commander Justice in 2074, only a handful of Japanese survived and are protected—or rather, are forced to live under the "protection" of the world's governments. Though many accepted this, Anji rejected the system, and chose the freedom of the present over a sedentary life. While living in the Colony, he met Baiken.
Having a theory of his own regarding the origin of Gears, Anji decided to conceal his own racial origins in order to search for "That Man", who caused the Crusades, who supposedly appeared in many different times, places, and disguises, and was responsible for the destruction of Baiken's hometown. He decided to investigate not out of spite, but rather out of sheer curiosity. Before leaving, Anji took Zessen—the focus of the colony's dimensional barrier, which thus began to progressively weaken every day—, and then disappeared from the colony, although he would since claim to have stumbled across it accidentally. Since then, Anji has been evading authorities looking to send him back to the village.
