Miyabi is a major location in the Guilty Gear series, and one of several colonies housing the Japanese survivors. The village, with Ogre Valley as part of its territories, is located near the Mediterranean Sea in the United Kingdoms of Illyria.

Design

Miyabi is a typical Colony, dressed in Japanese influence and design language. minka-style houses line the city, with soribashi bridging the gap between waterways throughout the Colony. These bridges are also seen cutting through the mountains that roll across the landscape. Lanterns and parasols are placed around the entrances and doors of various buildings. What appears to be a monorail stretches across the length of the colony, each hub bearing torii gates at each stop with shide streamers hung from the supporting pillars.

Buddhist Niōmon temples are seen occasionally in the Colony, with their most apparent depiction being the massive Niō statues which hold up the monorail. These are presumably Agyō statues specifically, due to the open mouth and wrathful stature they bear. A set of large, rocket-like dome structures are visible behind the statues. There are several gear and chain motifs present in the decorations.

Miyabi appears to be well dressed in terms of foliage, with Japanese maple trees in red and yellow varieties blooming within - however green leafy and coniferous trees still exist inside of the colony, but are more present upon the hills and mountains. Small bushes and mossy rocks line the lower level of the plant coverage.

The Japanese lived in the colonies after Japan was destroyed by Justice. The United Nations forbade the Japanese to leave the colonies and the ones who escaped became wanted by the authorities. They are forced back into the colonies sealed by a magic barrier. Ky Kiske, an International Police Force officer was able go into a colony only after releasing the seal, implying that Japanese colonies are also not accessible to the average person.

In Guilty Gear Xtra, Mizuha and her grandfather live there and encounter Tyr. The two later met Ky who was in the colony for an investigation over the awakening Gears and the reacting Sacred Treasures.
