Nirvana is a recurring location in the Guilty Gear series, appearing as a battle stage in the Guilty Gear X and XX games.

Design

The stage is a large platform with a checkered tile floor, with ruined archways circling it. The only objects on the platform are a small throne under a set of red curtains, and a large demon-like creature above a glowing summoning circle, being held in place by large stakes, metal bars and a chain. The background features nothing but a few towers bellow a cloudy sky with a glowing moon, and the whole stage has somewhat of a magenta glow.

Guilty Gear XX features a slightly redone version, with the checkered ground ditched for more ornate tiles; the demon now appears to be a cyclops, with more chains arround its body, and the stage as a whole having a more golden glow in place of the pink. The stage features strange cloacked entities, who float around the demon. It can be inferred the stage is set amist some sort of summoning ritual.

Trivia

  • The stage name is probably a reference to the band Nirvana.
  • The cloacked figures are similiar to the ones in the cover of the Testament album Souls of Black.
