Zepp is a recurring location in the Guilty Gear series, appearing as Potemkin's battle stage in the Guilty Gear X and XX games. It houses the Zepp Central Arsenal.

It is a tremendous ultra-dreadnought-class airship the size of a small country. Though it has the capacity to travel anywhere in the world, it generally remains above the Indian Ocean to prevent diplomatic disputes. Its cruising speed is approximately 32 knots.[1]

Design

The Zepp stage has had three largely different versions troughout the series

The first version debuts in Guilty Gear X, Featuring a junkyard, with different tattered machinery and a broken suspended railway, a view to the industries at the background. The stage is set at sunset in X, and a version at daytime is featured in XX.

Guilty Gear Isuka Has Zepp as a stage only in GG Boost Mode, Where players will fight hordes of enemies aboard an industrial elevator, which rises as the stage progresses, beggining admist machinery before rising to a view of the country.

Finally, Guilty Gear XX Λ Core features a Zepp with a Steampunk look, featuring large pipes and valves all arround. The stage is set arround many buildings that mix classic architecture with the machinery, all under a dusty, daytime sky. A stairway leading bellow into the machinery can be seem at the center.

Trivia

  • The name "Zepp" is likely a reference to a Zeppelin. This inspiration explains Gabriel's German influences, along with Potemkin's "Burly Heart" theme having some similarities to the song "Kashmir" by the band Led Zeppelin.
