Zepp is a recurring stage and a significant nation in the Guilty Gear series. It is the signature stage of Potemkin, as well as Faust's in Guilty Gear X and Robo-Ky's in Guilty Gear XX.

Originally, India refused the ban of all technology that the UN ordered. Though many still wished to be with them in good terms, others wished to keep the technology, separating the country in two for a long while. Some years later they started to work on a Ultra Dreadnought Ship which would become the Imperial State of Zepp, all those around the world that wished to keep what was now called Black Technology would join it. Zepp was a militarized state that at first had it's objective to protect all the old world technology, but it would forget it's principles and decay into using heavily aristocratic society and embraced slavery[1], keeping any who rebelled at bay with the use of explosive collars.[2]

In 2180, Gabriel, a Sergeant of the Zepp military would send Potemkin, one of the stronger slaves to fight in the Second Holy Order Selection Tournament. Potemkin was trained by the Sergeant in combat to fight and was ordered to make a wish to request more land, or else Zepp would invade the rest of the world. However this was all a distraction for Gabriel's real objective: his Coup d'Etat against the empire. Combat in said revolution would lead to some parts of the country having to put temporary repairs with makeshift boards.[3]

After the Coup, Gabriel would become its new president, renaming it The Independent Airborne State of Zepp and establishing a democracy, along with making Potemkin who fought in the tournament as well as the revolution his Presidential Guard, leading to him to becoming a hero of the country. Despite this, Zepp mainly still keeps to itself, flying on the Indian Ocean to keep itself away from the UN and other countries. During the hunt for Dizzy, Gabriel ordered Potemkin to bring her to Zepp, though after finding out that the Jellyfish Pirates already took her in, they remained silent and Gabriel ordered Potemkin to be her guardian.[4] Later on, Zepp would help the United Kingdoms of Illyria and other nations during the Cradle incident, fighting against the Universal Will's antimatter gears attacking Illyria and even stopping the White House from moving to Old Mexico.[5]

The only remnant of the Empire of Zepp is Leon Mining, a soldier who went on to work with the Post War Administration Bureau and with the Conclave.[6]

In Accent Core, a P.W.A.B building is located in Zepp, causing several characters like A.B.A and Baiken to travel to it. It is also implied that Robo-Ky units are manufactured in Zepp as it is Robo-Ky's stage.

In the Guilty Gear XX Drama CD Black timeline, the airship fleet of Zepp led by Potemkin fights with Commander Sol Badguy, implying that Zepp fights alongside the Holy Knights during the Crusades.
