GG Boost Mode (GGブーストモード, Jījī Būsuto Mōdo?) is a gameplay mode featured in Guilty Gear Isuka. It is side-scrolling action game in which the player must defeat numerous enemies and complete missions.

Overview

GG Boost Mode is a side-scrolling adventure in a multi-plane state, much like most of Isuka. This mode has you fight hordes of enemies and travel through unique stages in which you collect points and avoid traps within the stage. This mode has very different mechanics, reassigning the Jump, and Up direction. Line attack and Line Blow are completely removed. The stages featured in this mode are Fossil Hamlet, Zepp, Ninja Training, Hell’s Prison, and Castle Ruins.

GG Boost Mode exists in both standard play and Factory Mode. In Standard GG Boost you may play as any playable character on the roster except for Robo-Ky II, who is only accessible in Factory Mode, in which he is the only playable character. Factory GG Boost mode is the only mode that allows you to gain points to customize Robo Ky II at a rate of 1:100 EXP to points. These are meant to be used in Factory Mode customization to unlock new moves. If you die during one of these stages only half of the intended points will be allotted to the player.

At the beginning of each section, you are given one of four missions:

  • Defeat all Enemies
  • Defeat the Boss
  • Stay Alive for 60 Seconds
  • Defeat X Amount of Enemies

After 5 missions you will face a boss, who must be defeated to clear the stage. After clearing a stage it will ask you if you want to return to the menu or continue. Standard GG Boost and Factory GG Boost have slightly different progressions from each other, usually changing which section of a stage you may encounter a specific mission.

During this mode, the following items can drop:

  • Small Medal - gives you 1000 points
  • Large Medal - gives you 2000 points
  • Soda - restores a small amount of health
  • Sandwich - restores a medium amount of health
  • Steak - restores a large amount of health
  • Ham - restores all of your health
  • Red Potion - gives you infinite tension for a short time
  • Blue Potion - gives you super speed for a short time
  • Winged Bottle - warps you to a bonus stage in which it will return you to the next stage after of your original stage.

GG Boost Mode is also required to unlock Kakusei Sol and Kakusei Ky. This Mode holds several secrets about how to unlock some of Robo Ky II's moves, such as Gamma Ray, Bellows Malice, and Tyrant Rave.
