Jam Kuradoberi/Commands

From Guilty Gear Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Jam's Cards are a unique mechanic to her in all of her appearances.

Via Asanagi no Kokyuu, Jam gains stocks that can power up Ryuujin, Gekirin & Kenroukaku, designated by their own buttons.

In the Guilty Gear XX series, Jam uses her cards to not only power them up, but it also grants her the ability to cancel into one another by inputting the respective command, then pressing Dust instead of their regular buttons; this would be changed following Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-.

Cancelling into the moves or using a powered-up version of the aforementioned moves uses up 1 stock between Guilty Gear X up to ΛCPR, though all stocks saved for each of the moves will be used up in the Xrd series.

Asanagi no Kokyuu (朝凪の呼吸, Asanagi no Kokyū?, lit. Breath of Morning Calm) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Originally localized as Breath of Asanagi between Guilty Gear X & Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Jam focuses her energy. Once she finishes, she gains a stock (up to 3) for each of her Special Attacks, making them Fortified (強化, Kyōka?, lit. Strengthened) depending on the button used:

In the Xrd series, holding the button allows Jam to quickly achieve maximum Asanagi stocks without having to do each one individually.

Using these stocks allows her to not only cancel into each of the aforementioned Special Attacks, but it also strengthens them gradually.

Ryuujin (龍刃, Ryū Jin?, lit. Dragon Blade) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

GGXX

Ryuujin
Jam flies forward for a dragon kick with her front foot, which is shrouded in blue chi. This causes a wall bounce on hit.

Its properties change when a Breath of Asanagi stock is used, requiring an input of DownDown RightRight + Dust to use the Asanagi version. With at least 1 stock, Ryuujin causes a wall splat.

Jam flies forward for a dragon kick with her front foot, which is shrouded in flames in the shape of a dragon's head.

Its properties change when Fortified - with at least 1 stock, the distance Jam travels is a lot greater, on top of having a damage buff. At max stocks, Ryuujin's flames go from orange to blue, and the power is maxed out.

Gekirin (逆鱗, Gekirin?, lit. Reverse Scale) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

GGXX

Gekirin
Jam leaps high and does a reverse kick with her leg set ablaze, causing a hard knockdown.

Its properties change when a Breath of Asanagi stock is used, requiring an input of DownDown LeftLeft + Dust to use the Asanagi version. With at least 1 stock, Gekirin hits twice and launches the opponent.

At max stocks, Gekirin's flames go from orange to blue in a ring around her, spins the opponent out on contact and maxes out its damage.

Kenroukaku (劔楼閣, Ken Rōkaku?, lit. Sword Skyscraper) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X

GGXX

Kenroukaku
Jam rises up with a drilling kick, turning upside-down. This causes a hard knockdown when the opponent lands.

Its properties change when a Breath of Asanagi stock is used, requiring an input of RightDownDown Right + Dust to use the Asanagi version. With at least 1 stock, Kenroukaku launches the opponent off-screen for a second.

GGXrd

Jam rises while kicking her opponent 4 times with alternating feet before flipping backwards.

Its properties change when Fortified - with at least 1 stock, Jam kicks her opponent 6 times. At max stocks, Kenroukaku's flames go from orange to blue, kicks her opponent 7 times - with the last one being an aerial Dowanga, and the power is maxed out.

Youeikyaku (鷹嬰脚, Yō Ei Kyaku?, lit. Sharp Hawk Legs) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Originally localized Houeikyaku between Guilty Gear X & Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Bakushuu (爆蹴, Baku Shū?, lit. Explosive Kick) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Jam dashes forwards while keeping a low profile. While dashing, she can avoid high and mid-level attacks. Additionally, while dashing, Jam can lead into the following attacks:
  • Mawarikomi (回り込み, Mawarikomi?, lit. Wrap-around) - Jam leans backwards while gliding forwards, passing safely through her opponent.
  • Ashibarai (足払い, Ashibarai?, lit. Leg Sweep)/Hamonkyaku (波紋脚, Hamon Kyaku?, lit. Rippling Leg) - Jam does splits on the floor, tripping her opponent with a chi-laced reverse kick.
  • Hyappo Shinshou (百歩沁鐘, Hyappo Shin Shō?, lit. Hundred-Step Stinging Chime) - Jam punches her opponent with a chi-laced front fist, knocking her opponent back.
  • Senri Shinshou (千里沁鐘, Senri Shin Shō?, lit. Thousand-Li Stinging Chime) - Jam slides through her opponent, then punches them with a chi-laced front fist, knocking her opponent to the back wall.
  • Choujin (跳迅, Chō Jin?, lit. Quick Jump) - Jam vaults over her opponent with a quick jump. From there, she can follow up with any aerial attack, including other Special Attacks.

Hochifu (祓斧, Hochi Fu?, lit. Exorcising Axe) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Jam quickly parries an attack. This can only be used against high or mid-level attacks - including Overdrives, can be used in rapid succession, and she can immediately attack afterwards.

In Guilty Gear XX, Jam puts up a stance to parry the attack, which would then be passed down to the Xrd series. Throughout the XX series, however, Jam can only parry attacks if she is about to get hit.

Exclusive to the Xrd series, Jam can follow-up Hochifu with Zekkei (絶勁, Zekkei/Jué jìn?, lit. Peerless Strength), a one-inch punch that pushes the opponent back slightly. After that, she can attack further with either:
  • Goushao (剛焼, Gō Shō?/Gāng shāo?, lit. Scorch), a two-sided palm thrust akin to Chipp's Resshou that pushes the opponent back for a hard knockdown
  • Dowanga (段牙, Dan Ga/Duàn yá?, lit. Step Fang), a crescent kick using her rear leg that launches her opponent.

Banri Soushou (万里双掌, Banri Sō Shō?, lit. 10,000 Li Twin Palms) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Jam.

Jam thrusts her front palm diagonally downwards with the first input; with the second, she steps forward with a palm-heel strike with her rear hand. She can then transition into Hyappo/Senri Shinshou.

Choujin (跳迅, Chō Jin?, lit. Quick Jump) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Slash, last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Choujin
Jam vaults over her opponent with a quick jump. From there, she can follow up with any aerial attack, including other Special Attacks.

While mainly used as a standalone Special Attack for EX Jam, it would become a follow-up to regular Jam's Bakushuu in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core.

Mawarikomi (回り込み, Mawarikomi?, lit. Wrap-around) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Jam leans backwards while gliding forwards, passing safely through her opponent.

While mainly used as a follow-up to Bakushuu, EX Jam can use it as a standalone Special Attack in the Guilty Gear XX series.

Juppo Senken (拾歩閃拳, Juppo Sen Ken?, lit. Ten-Step Flash Fist) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Slash, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Jam.

Juppo Senken
Jam rapidly jabs her opponent's midsection 10 times, then does a final punch to cause a wall bounce.

If she misses, Jam gives a pondering expression.

The Shinshou (沁鐘, Shin Shō?, lit. Stinging Chime) line of attacks were was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

There are 2 versions of Shinshou:

Hyappo Shinshou

Hyappo Shinshou (百歩沁鐘, Hyappo Shin Shō?, lit. Hundred-Step Stinging Chime) has Jam punch her opponent with a blue chi-laced front fist; in Guilty Gear Xrd, this would be changed to purple.

EX Jam's version throughout the Guilty Gear XX series deals 4 hits, knocking the opponent back across the screen.

Senri Shinshou

Senri Shinshou (千里沁鐘, Senri Shin Shō?, lit. Thousand-Li Stinging Chime) has Jam rush forwards - through her opponent if close enough, to punch her opponent with a blue chi-laced front fist; in Guilty Gear Xrd, this would be changed to an open-hand uppercut that blasts the opponent to the corner.

EX Jam's version throughout the Guilty Gear XX series deals 3 hits, knocking the opponent back across the screen.

Both versions are used as follow-ups to Bakushuu, Banri Soushou, and as standalone Special Attacks for EX Jam in the Guilty Gear XX series.

Banri Senken (万里閃拳, Banri Sen Ken?, lit. 10,000 Li Flash Fist) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Jam.

Banri Senken
Jam rapidly punches out a long dragon-shaped wave at her opponent, blasting them far back under normal circumstances, and causes a wall splat when closer to the back wall.

Housai (崩砕, Hō Sai?, lit. Total Destruction) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Slash, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Jam.

Housai
Jam flips over her opponent and jabs their head. It deals no damage, but it stuns the opponent for a long time.

If she misses, she falls onto her knees, leaving herself wide open until she gets up.

Choukyaku Hou'oushou (兆脚鳳凰昇, Chō Kyaku Hō'ō Shō?, lit. Trillion Legs Fenghuang/Phoenix Rise) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Jam charges forwards. If she connects with her opponent, she barrages them with strikes, ending the flurry with a flaming high kick to launch the opponent. She finishes them off with a rising attack, imprinting an ethereal phoenix behind her.

In the Guilty Gear Xrd series, Jam trades the rushdown for swinging her front leg back and forth, slapping her opponent around 17 times before kicking them up to finish them off as normal.

In the Guilty Gear XX series, Jam's EX form gets a modified version called Geki: Hou'oushou (激・鳳凰昇, Geki: Hō'ō Shō?, lit. Violent Fenghuang Rise), where Jam rushes through both sides of the opponent, then does a palm uppercut to launch the opponent, imprinting the phoenix above her.

Renhoukyaku (纞崩嬢, Ren Hō Jō?, lit. Daughter of Destruction) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Jam holds her rear hand out, creating a huge ball of pulsing orange chi for a total of 9 hits.

In the Guilty Gear XX series, Jam's EX form has a modified version called Geki: Renhoukyaku (激・纞崩嬢, Geki: Ren Hō Jō?, lit. Violent Daughter of Destruction), which only does one hit, but deals more damage and causes a wall bounce.

In the Guilty Gear Xrd -series, Jam uses her front hand to create the sphere of energy, pressing her rear index finger on the back of her front hand to steady it. After the attack, she has to catch her breath.

Bao Saishinshou (爆・砕神掌, Baku: Sai Shin Shō?, lit. Bursting Crushing God Palm) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX.

Originally known as Geki: Saishinshou (激・砕神掌, Geki: Sai Shin Shō?, lit. Violent Crushing God Palm).

Kaorinquen
Additionally, Bao Saishinshou gains the follow-up, Kaorinquen (烤霊魂(カオリンクェン ), Kaorinku~en/Kǎo líng hún?, lit. Burning Spirit), where Jam does a rising punch as the opponent crashes down, with a pale blue Chinese dragon made of chi rising up with her.

Kaorinquen needs to be timed properly, otherwise the attack will miss.

Geki: Youeikyaku (激・鷹嬰脚, Geki: Yō Ei Kyaku?, lit. Violent Sharp Hawk Legs) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Jam.

Geki: Youeikyaku
Jam sticks her front leg diagonally down. If she connects with her opponent, she rapidly stomps on their upper half with alternating feet, staggering the opponent after she lands.

Tousai Hyakuretsuken (闘砕珀裂拳, Tō Sai Haku Retsu Ken?, lit. Warring Amber Rending Fists) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Jam takes a stance, then rushes towards her opponent. If she connects with them, she barrages their midsection with incredibly fast jabs with both hands, totalling 98 hits; she then finishing them off with an palm-based uppercut, capping off the combo at 100 hits.

Gasenkotsu (我羨惚, Ga Sen Kotsu?, lit. Narcissism) is Jam's first and only Instant Kill, appearing in Guilty Gear X up to Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

In both the Guilty Gear X and XX series, Jam starts her attack by charging into her opponent with a Tetsuzanko; in the Xrd series, she strikes her opponent with a Goushao.

If she connects, Jam recites "Ten-Jō-Ten-Ga-Yui-Ga-Doku-Son!" (天上天下唯我独尊, Tenjōtenga Yuigadokuson?, lit. Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one) while striking her opponent. Afterwards, she flies up towards her foe to end the combo with a flameless Ryuujin.

In the Guilty Gear Xrd series, a new shot is added midway through, showing Jam looking at her wrecked restaurant in shock before destroying the opponent with a flying kick in her rage, crying from the distress and her resolve.
