Guard Point is a unique mechanic used by Anji from Guilty Gear X, all the way up to Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Certain normal attacks in Anji's arsenal give him armor, which allows him to continue his attack even if he's hit by a single-hit move, excluding projectiles and throws.

Below are the moves that give Anji Guard Point:

High
The high Guard Point attacks allows Anji to power through high or mid-level attacks.
Low
The low Guard Point attacks allows Anji to power through low-level attacks, especially sweeps.

Should Guard Point be activated, Anji can transition into Kou, Sou or Kachoufuugetsu.

Shitsu (, Shitsu?, lit. Swiftness) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Using his front fan, Anji releases a butterfly made of blue ki, which flies in a straight line just shy of full-screen. Should it hit the opponent, whether they block it or not, it turns into a bird that bounces in an arc, striking the opponent overhead.

Fuujin (風神, Fūjin?, lit. Wind God) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Anji steps forward to smack his opponent with his fans with flair, surrounded by wind-like energy to push the opponent back.

In the Guilty Gear XX series, regular Anji's Heavy Slash Fuujin causes a wall bounce, while EX Anji's version has him glide through his opponent before attacking.

Whether Fuujin connects or not (Does not apply to Heavy Slash Fuujin in Guilty Gear XX.), Anji can follow up with the attacks below:

Shin: Ichishiki

Shin: Ichishiki (針・壱式, Shin: Ichi Shiki?, lit. Needle: Style One) - Anji leaps up to throw 6 closed fans in a spread-shot diagonally downwards; in -STRIVE-, this would be whittled down to 2 fans.

Shin: Nishiki

Shin: Nishiki
Shin: Nishiki (針・弐式, Shin: Ni Shiki?, lit. Needle: Style Two) - Anji crosses his arms over, forming a glowing ball of blue energy that electrocutes the opponent, causing a ground bounce. Exclusive to Guilty Gear X and would become its own Special Attack.

Kai: Ichishiki

Kai: Ichishiki
Kai: Ichishiki (戒・壱式, Kai: Ichi Shiki?, lit. Commandment: Style One) - Exclusive to Guilty Gear X and would become its own Special Attack in the Guilty Gear XX series.

Issokutobi

Issokutobi (一足飛び, Issoku Tobi?, lit. Flying Step) - Added in Guilty Gear XX. Anji leaps forwards with his back towards the opponent, avoiding low attacks.

Nagiha

Nagiha (凪刃, Nagi Ha?, lit. Calm Blade) - Anji sweeps his opponent's legs with one of his fans. trailing with blue ki. In -STRIVE-, a water effect is added in place of the blue ki.

Rin

Rin (, Rin?, lit. Confront) - Added in Guilty Gear XX Slash. Anji spins around and bashes his opponent overhead with one of his fans, causing a hard knockdown.

Hold Heavy Slash for Suigetsu no Hakobi
In -STRIVE-, holding Heavy Slash has Anji twirl around, as if using Suigetsu no Hakobi, and parries attacks as such too if he's hit.

The Shin (, Shin?, lit. Needle) line of attacks were first introduced in Guilty Gear X, with Shin: Nishiki last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

There have been 2 attacks in the Shin line used by Anji:

Shin: Ichishiki

Shin: Ichishiki (針・壱式, Shin: Ichi Shiki?, lit. Needle: Style One) has Anji leap up to throw 6 closed fans in a spread-shot diagonally downwards; in -STRIVE-, this would be whittled down to 2 fans.

While this is mainly used as a follow-up to Fuujin, it would become a standalone Special Attack for EX Anji throughout the Guilty Gear XX series.

Shin: Nishiki

Shin: Nishiki
Shin: Nishiki (針・弐式, Shin: Ni Shiki?, lit. Needle: Style Two) has Anji cross his arms over, forming a glowing ball of blue energy that electrocutes the opponent, causing a ground bounce.

While this is widely used as a standalone attack, it would be a a follow-up to Fuujin in the Guilty Gear X series.

Kou (, ?, lit. Crimson) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Anji spins upward, folding his fans out on his way up. In its original appearances, it dealt 8 hits and could only be done via Guard Point for the regular Anji in Guilty Gear XX, though it would be a regular input for EX Anji and for Guilty Gear -STRIVE-.
Hold Slash for Suigetsu no Hakobi
In -STRIVE-, holding Slash has Anji twirl around, as if using Suigetsu no Hakobi, and parries attacks as such too if he's hit.

The Kai (, Kai?, lit. Commandment) line of attacks were first introduced in Guilty Gear X, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Kai: Ichishiki/Nishiki/Sanshiki
The Kai line of attacks has Anji leap high-and-forward, then drops down feet-first, kicking up dust upon landing.

Kai: Ichishiki (戒・壱式, Kai: Ichi Shiki?, lit. Commandment: Style One) is exclusively a follow-up to Fuujin, while Kai: Nishiki (戒・弐式, Kai: Ni Shiki?, lit. Commandment: Style Two) & Kai: Sanshiki (戒・参式, Kai: San Shiki?, lit. Commandment: Style Three) can be used as separate Special Attacks.

Ichishiki and Nishiki cause a mild ground bounce, while Sanshiki causes a hard knockdown.

On (, On?, lit. Shade) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Anji leaps diagonally upwards, holding one of his giant fans. If he connects with an airborne opponent, he turns them around in the air, then covers their side using said fan, where Anji then electrocutes them before letting them go.

This can only be used as an anti-air.

Sou (, ?, lit. Azure) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Sou
Anji twirls towards his opponent, bashing them with alternating fans in his hands.

In his regular form, he deals 64 points of damage across 4 hits, staggering them slightly. In his EX form, the last hit of Sou causes a wall splat.

Suigetsu no Hakobi (水月のハコビ, Suigetsu no Hakobi?, lit. Stage of the Water & Moon) was first introduced in Guilty Gear -Strive-.

Anji twirls around while holding his fans. As he spins around, he can counter any physical attack, and stops the opponent from using whatever they planned to follow up with (excluding Roman Cancels).

Note: This cannot parry throws or command grabs.

Midare
Introduced in the 1.29 patch update, successfully blocking an attack with Suigetsu no Hakobi allows Anji to use Midare (, Midare?, lit. Dishevelling), where he swings his front fan down overhead that causes a ground bounce, creating an ethereal stream with a koi following the fan.

If Midare whiffs, it can't be Roman-Cancelled out of.

Shitsu (, Shitsu?, lit. Swiftness) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Kou (, ?, lit. Crimson) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Kou
After successfully braving an attack through Guard Point, Anji rapidly spins upwards, creating a hurricane around him while his opponent gets whisked up, then knocks them back to the floor with Shin: Nishiki.

On (, On?, lit. Shade) was first introduced - and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to regular Anji.

Anji crouches down, then rapidly leaps diagonally upwards - almost to the top of the map while holding one of his giant fans. If he connects with an airborne opponent, he turns them around in the air, then covers their side using said fan, where Anji then electrocutes them before letting them go.

This can only be used as an anti-air.

Issei Ougi: Sai (一誠奥義「彩」, Issei Ōgi: Sai?, lit. Sincere Secret Technique: Coloring) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Anji throws out a pair of fans that spin around like a sawblade in front of him, which then fold up before returning to Anji.

In the Guilty Gear XX series, Anji can use Sai as a follow-up to Mukei. Compared to the regular Issei Ougi: Sai, the follow-up version has MUCH quicker recovery time, allowing Anji to continue his combo.

In Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, Anji puts his fans together, where the camera then focuses between the gap, showing a bird of prey fly between the picturesque designs. Also, if used in the corner, it causes an Area Shift.

Tenjinkyaku (天神脚, Tenjin Kyaku?, lit. Heavenly God's Legs) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Kachoufuugetsu (花鳥風月, Kachōfūgetsu?, lit. Beauty of Nature) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX

Renamed Kachoufuugetsu Kai (花鳥風月 改, Kachōfūgetsu Kai?, lit. Beauty of Nature - Revised) in Guilty Gear -Strive-.

GGXX

Kachoufuugetsu
After a successful Guard Point or block (EX Anji only.), Anji bashes his opponent with alternating fans in his hands, ending with an attack that puts up a byoubu screen behind him.

GGST

Kachoufuugetsu Kai
Rather than relying on Guard Point, Anji puts up a defensive stance with a fan in each hand. If hit by a high or mid-level attack, he counters with a similar combo to the original variant. Additionally, instead of the folding screen, a moon appears behind him for a moment.

Mukei (無形, Mukei?, lit. Abstract) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Anji.

Mukei
Anji steps forward to smack his opponent with his fans with flair, surrounded by wind-like energy to launch the opponent back. While not as strong as either version of Fuujin, Mukei gives Anji different follow-up options:
  • Kou (, ?, lit. Crimson) - Anji spins upward, folding his fans out on his way up.
  • Ten (, Ten?, lit. Heaven) - Anji leaps high, as if going for Kai: Sanshiki, drilling his opponent with his feet while whipping up a tornado from the velocity he spins at. When he stops, the opponent gets flung behind him.
  • Sai (, Sai?, lit. Colors) - Anji throws out a pair of fans that spin around like a sawblade in front of him, which then fold up before returning to Anji. This version of Issei Ougi: Sai has very quick recovery time.
  • On (, On?, lit. Shade) - Anji leaps diagonally upwards and turns the opponent around in the air, then covers their side using said fan, where Anji then electrocutes them before letting them go. This version of On has very quick recovery time.

Zetsu (, Zetsu?, lit. Peerless) is Anji's first and only Instant Kill, appearing in Guilty Gear X up to Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Zetsu
Anji shrouds himself in a sphere of pale blue ki, which he then uses to carry himself off screen. He returns to the field riding a dragon made of the same energy, which charges into his opponent.
