Potemkin/Commands

From Guilty Gear Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Due to Potemkin's size, he is unable to forward dash/run or air dash in either direction by regular means.

Potemkin Buster (ポチョムキンバスター, Pochomukin Basutā?) is Potemkin Buster's command grab. First seen in Guilty Gear.

Potemkin grabs his opponent with both hands, racks them across his back so they face the sky , then jumps high - and crashes back down, landing on his feet, effectively breaking his opponent's back before chucking them back on the ground.

In the original Guilty Gear, Potemkin Buster dealt damage equivalent of 1/2 of the current health bar, though this would be toned down in later games.

In the Guilty Gear XX series in his EX form, Potemkin Buster can be used as a follow-up for Unbreakable Spirit.

Mega Fist (メガフィスト, Mega Fisuto?) was first introduced in the original Guilty Gear.

Potemkin jumps and thrusts both of his fists diagonally downwards, punching his opponent from above.

This can be done both forwards and backwards, propelling himself in their respective directions.

Slide Head (スライドヘッド, Suraido Heddo?) was first introduced in the original Guilty Gear.

Originally known as Graviton Stamp (グラヴィトン スタンプ, Guraviton Sutanpu?).

Potemkin methodically pratfalls onto his front, creating a screen-wide tremor that this trips the opponent regardless of blocking status, though this does no damage (GGX onwards); in Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, opponents can block low against the shockwave. If the opponent is caught under Potemkin during slide head, they will be damaged and floored with a hard knockdown. In the original Guilty Gear, Potemkin can can charge Graviton Stamp by inputting RightDownDown Right + holding Respect instead of Punch. The level 1 version remains as normal. When charged to Level 2, a large, 3-hit pillar of fire appears shortly after the shockwave. At Level 3, the pillar of fire becomes bigger and deals up to 5 hits.

Nitro Hook (ニトロフック, Nitoro Hukku?) was first introduced in the original Guilty Gear and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R as EX Potemkin.

Potemkin slides forward a short distance. If he comes into contact with the opponent, he punches them, sending them flying.

In the original Guilty Gear, the opponent bounces off the wall after being hit. If done in the corner, the resulting knockdown cannot be teched, even with perfect timing, making Nitro Hook the only move in the game capable of causing a hard knockdown.

In the Guilty Gear XX series, Potemkin can follow up with Heat Extend - and if he has 50% Tension, he can further follow up with Heavenly Potemkin Buster.

Hammer Fall (ハンマフォール, Hanma Fōru?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Potemkin rushes forward, then pincers his opponent with both fists, aiming at their chest and back to knock them down. While moving, Potemkin has a single hit of armor.

Pressing Punch before he strikes cancels the attack.

Heat Knuckle (ヒートナックル, Hīto Nakkuru?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Potemkin reaches his rear hand upwards. If he catches his opponent, he explodes them 3 times before letting them go.

Because of the angle Potemkin reaches, Heat Knuckle can only be used as an anti-air.

During Heat Knuckle, Potemkin can follow up with Heat Extend, (ヒートエクステンド, Hīto Ekusutendo?), charging one more explosion that launches this opponent.

In the Guilty Gear XX series in as EX Potemkin, Heat Extend can be used as a follow-up for Unbreakable Spirit, while Heat Extend becomes a follow-up to Nitro Hook.

Guilty Gear -STRIVE-
In Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, both Heat Knuckle & Heat Extend would become one move.

F.D.B. was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX.

Potemkin gets down on one knee and flicks his index finger on his rear hand, using the other to steady his arm. While the effective range is just shy of mid-screen, an additional effect of F.D.B. is its ability to send back mid-level projectiles.

Judge Gauntlet (ジャッジガントレット, Jajji Gantoretto?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Potemkin sharply punches his opponent overhead with his front fist, releasing a handful of shells out of his gauntlet on impact. If it connects, it causes a hard knockdown.

Pressing Punch before Potemkin throws the punch stops the attack.

Judge Gauntlet can also be used as a follow-up for Unbreakable Spirit.

Unbreakable Spirit (バンディットリヴォルヴァー, Anbureikaburu Supirittsu?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear XX, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R. Exclusive to EX Potemkin.

Potemkin holds his arms to his sides while puffing his chest out, able to withstand any non-grab attack as long as he's in the stance.

Holding the button extends the time he maintains the stance.

If Potemkin gets hit by any attack, he can follow up with Potemkin Buster, a version of Heat Knuckle that knocks the opponent to the back end of the screen, or a hard knockdown-inducing Judge Gauntlet.

Trishula (トリシューラ, Torishūra?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- and last seen in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

Potemkin presses his rear fist into the ground, then creates a whirlwind of flames around himself. If the opponent gets caught in it, they get launched.

I.C.P.M. was first introduced in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- and last seen in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

Potemkin dives in a long arc, landing head-first into whatever comes first - the ground, or his opponent; if he collides with his opponent while flying, I.C.P.M. causes a hard knockdown.

Garuda Impact (ガルダインパクト, Garuda Inpakuto?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear -Strive-.

Using a jet mounted to his front gauntlet, Potemkin fires a short flame in front of him. On contact, it staggers the opponent, allowing for a follow-up. If blocked, it's an instant guard break.

Heat Tackle (ヒートタックル, Hīto Takkuru?) was first introduced in the 1.33 patch update for Guilty Gear -Strive-.

Potemkin flies diagonally upwards using 4 mounted jets on each of his gauntlets. If he collides with his opponent, it causes a hard knockdown.

While flying, Potemkin has 1 hit of armor.

If it connects, it causes a mild ground bounce.

Gigantic Piston (ガイガンティックピストン, Gaigantikku Pisuton?) was first introduced - and last seen in the original Guilty Gear.

Potemkin does a strong straight punch with his rear hand, blasting his opponent back.

Heavenly Potemkin Buster (ヘブンリーポチョムキンバスター, Hebunrī Pochomukin Basutā?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X

Potemkin jumps diagonally upwards. If he's within range of his opponent, he rises to the top of the screen, flips upside down, then does his signature Potemkin Buster while falling, throwing his opponent to the floor afterwards.

In the Guilty Gear Xrd series, the attack is more cinematic, showing the opponent's reaction to getting caught in Potemkin's grasp. This is further elevated in -STRIVE-, where once Potemkin reaches the apex of his jump with his racked opponent, a pair of Buddhist figures appear behind them.

Giganter (ガイガンター, Gaigantā?) was first introduced in Guilty Gear X.

Redubbed Giganter Kai (ガイガンター改, Gaigantā Kai?, lit. Giganter Revised) as of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-.

Potemkin creates a rectangular force-field of blue energy in front of him. On contact, it immediately stuns the opponent.

However, in the Guilty Gear XX series in his EX form, Giganter deals up to 4 hits without stunning the opponent. This also applies to the -STRIVE- version, which also causes an Area Shift if used in the corner.

Between Guilty Gear X & ΛCPR, Potemkin can follow up with Gigantic Bullet (Kai) (ガイガンティックブリッド改, Gaigantikku Buriddo Kai?), where Potemkin creates a red flame in one hand, a blue flame in the other - then clasps his hands together and slides forwards to sharply punch his opponent away.

In the Guilty Gear XX series in his EX form, Gigantic Bullet can be done separately from Giganter. He can also use it in the air, divebombing down instead of the thrusting punch.

Nuclear Hammer (ニュークリアハンマー, Nyūkuria Hanmā?) is Potemkin's first Instant Kill, first introduced - and last seen in the original Guilty Gear.

Potemkin slowly lifts both his arms above his head, then uses his incredible strength to strike his opponent overhead with an explosive double axe-handle punch.

Magnum Opera (マグナムオペラ, Magunamu Opera?) is Potemkin's second Instant Kill, first introduced in Guilty Gear X, and last seen in Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus R.

Potemkin flexes his muscles. If his opponent is close-up to him, they get launched up while Potemkin's armor crumbles under the pressure. Then, after kissing his rear fist, Potemkin sharply punches his opponent as they fall back down, destroying them.

Nuclear Hammer (インファナルツアー, Infanaru Tsuā?) is Potemkin's third and final Instant Kill, first introduced in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, and last seen in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2.

Potemkin attempts to grab his opponent. If he connects, he racks them on his back, not unlike Potemkin Buster - however, instead of going for his vintage backbreaker, he flips over, spinning like a drill into his opponent's midsection using the spike on his helmet with increasing velocity, until he drives his opponent into the ground, creating an explosion that makes a crater.

Somehow unfazed, Potemkin gets to his feet and slams both of his fists down into his half-buried opponent, making them crash through the center of the earth - ending up half-buried on an undisclosed island.

The following is Potemkin's move list in the original Guilty Gear. Changes to the Anniversary release include:
