Tuning

Tuning is a unique form of energy manipulation. Due to tuning existing before the introduction of magic, it could be considered either similar to or an application of ki manipulation. Tuners, as described by Johnny, are able to "tune" people like one tunes a guitar, helping safeguard them from illness and realize their true potential. The only surviving tuners are those of the Kum family, especially family head Kum Haehyun.

Tuning has multiple uses, both offensively and defensively. Haehyun states that while she can't use it to cure illness, she is able to strength the bodies of others to help prevent them from falling ill in the first place. During Ariels' attempt to transform the residents of the Japanese colony into antimatter Gears using their Ki Overflow Syndrome, Haehyn uses her tuning with the help of a ki-infused cherry blossom to block her attempts. Haehyun also uses it to bolster the strength of her attacks, create "tuning balls" as projectiles, and paralyze her opponents.
