Baptisma 13

Baptisma 13, or the Baptisma 13 event, is the official name of the invasion of United Kingdom of Illyria by the first Valentine and her Vizuel army in 2186 that takes place during Guilty Gear 2 -Overture-.

Story

Valentine, operating under the orders of the Universal Will, wishes to enter the Cube, a structure built by That Man located in the Backyard that is capable of manipulating information in the Backyard thus influencing the real world. For this, she requires the "key", the Gear cells of Justice, to open it. Thus, beginnning in 2185, Gears all over Illyria begin to disappear as they are sublimated by Valentine and her army in an effort to find the key. Eventually, in 2186, Justice's daughter Dizzy is targeted and is close to being sublimated, but the First Allied King Ky Kiske manages to use the Thunderseal to freeze time around her, saving her from a grim fate but leaving her in a state of stasis. With the location of the "key" revealed to them, the Vizuel army launches an all out attack against the capitol of Illyria in order to claim her.Conventional magic is ineffective against the Vizuel army, so the soldiers of Illyria are unable to fight off the threat. The city of Illyria falls and Ky is trapped in a seal by That Man. However, Ky is able to get a message out to Sol Badguy and Sin Kiske before the city's fall.

Sol and Sin, with the help of a Yokai named Izuna, arrive and fight their way to the castle, clashing with Valentine in the process. The group manages to reach the throne room but are unable to free Ky from his seal. Sol and Izuna travel to Ganymede to get the assistance of Dr. Paradigm, an intelligent Gear and scholar of magic, in breaking the seal, leaving Sin behind to watch over Ky. Sol is able to pass Dr. Paradigm's test, and soon after helps repel the Vizuel invasion of the archipelago; seeing this, the doctor along with several of his Gear companions agree to travel with Sol back to Illyria. Paradigm is able to release Ky, but Sin is captured and brainwashed by Valentine, who uses the cells he inherited from his mother, Dizzy, to create the key she needs. Sol and Izuna arrive and defeat the brainwashed Sin, but Valentine had already disappeared into the depths of the Backyard.

Thanks to the assistance of That Man, Sol, Dr. Paradigm and Izuna are able to follow Valentine into the Backyard, with Sin following afterwards through a portal created by Ky. Valentine transforms into a more powerful form, and Sin, Paradigm and Izuna hold her off while Sol destroys access to the Cube using his own magic. Finally, Sol defeats a further transformed Valentine in battle, concluding the incident.
