Ganymede
Ganymede is a location and battle stage in the Guilty Gear series. It is a small, obscure archipelago inhabited by independent-type Gears.
Design
The island is a settlement with sophisticated buildings surrounded by white sand beaches.
Story
After the Crusades, Gears who escaped Justice's control and were able to retain their free will flocked together and lived in isolation from the rest of the world with Dr. Paradigm acting as their leader.
In 2185, Izuna brings Sol Badguy to Ganymede to request for Dr. Paradigm's help in releasing the seal on Ky Kiske, First King of Illyria. Sol is surprised at the existence of the island and asks about human-type Gears. Dr. Paradigm replies that the human types couldn't get along with each other and left the island. The two then have a skirmish and Dr. Paradigm learns about his identity as "Frederick". In turn, Sol learns that Gears in the island were also affected by Valentine's brainwashing. The three of them return to Illyria afterwards.
Trivia
Ganymede is both a Greek mythological figure and a moon of the planet Jupiter, with the latter being named after the former.
