The Lars Canyon is a stage introduced in Guilty Gear -Strive-. It is described as "traces of the bygone Crusades still remain in the desolate wastelands of America."[1]

It is the default stage of the American characters; Sol Badguy, Goldlewis Dickinson, and Jack-O'.

Design

Lars Canyon follows the typical format for -Strive- stages, of having three "areas" that are travelled between by achieving Wall-Breaks or charged Dust follow ups.

The starting area sees the characters out staring out in view of the canyon behind them, with massive skeletons that have been pierced and slain by massive swords laying in remains. The Guilty Gear -Strive- 2022 Scenic Calendar describes these as "The massive sword that pierced a Gear still stands and keeps it sealed long after it had been reduced to white bones, as if it had come to terms with mankind's hopes and wishes. However, the crystal at the core of that Gear continues to glow suspiciously in the shows of the rocks, dreaming of the day when it will be resurrected."[1] A river can be seen flowing through the canyon, with dried roots of nearby plants being visible nearby. A large blue crystal can be seen in front the skeleton closest to the camera. The sword that pierced the skeleton can also be seen faintly glowing blue as it keeps what looks like could be the Gear's heart in place.

The area to the right brings the fighters around to a different angle of the river. We can see a much larger skeleton of a gear that was previously not visible to us. We can see a small, broken wooden bridge that spans from both sides of the cliff above the river.

The final area of the stage has the characters fight in part of the canyon that is partially shaded by rocks above. On the right, we can see the broken off part of one of the swords that stabbed the gears. A somewhat paved path to the bottom of a blue crystal can be seen between the layers of the canyon. Many dust particles can be seen being picked up by the wind. This area places an echo effect on all voice lines.

Trivia

  • In the game's files, this stage is referred to as "Wilderness."
  • While the exact region of America this stage takes place in is never specified, it bares some resemblance to the area referred to as the "Boston Seabed" that is briefly seen in Sol's arcade mode in Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-[2] without the large skeletons of gears.
