Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-

Throughout an Episode Mode run, cutscenes will now play as you progress, and characters will have a full-on conversation with each other before and after the match. Every cutscene in Episode Mode is considered canon and takes place before the game's Story Mode, although the dialogue will differ depending on the chosen character. Ramlethal Valentine takes the role of the boss character, with her being fight the most at the end (canonically Sol, Ky, and Sin are the characters to be with Ramlethal at Japan when the Cradle incident in Babylon occured), but now the penultimate and last character in an arcade run can be a different opponent depending on who you're playing as:

Stage 7 Characters
  • Bedman (Axl Low's and Potemkin's Arcade)
  • Chipp (May's Arcade)
  • Ky Kiske (Chipp's and Sol's Arcade)
  • Millia Rage (Venom's and Zato's Arcade)
  • Slayer (Faust's Arcade)
  • Sol Badguy (Bedman's, I-No's, Ky's Arcade)
  • Venom (Millia's and Slayer's Arcade)
Stage 8 Characters
  • I-No (Axl Low's Arcade)
  • Ramlethal Valentine (Bedman's, Chipp's, I-No's, May's, Sol's and Zato's Arcade)
  • Sol Badguy (Elphelt's, Leo's and Sin's Arcade)
  • Zato (Faust's, Millia's, Slayer's, and Venom's Arcade)

With Elphelt, Leo, and Sin being DLC characters, they lack arcade cutscenes in general. Their 7th stage is random as well.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-/Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2

Revelator's arcade mode follows the same structure as it's predecessor. The arcade cutscenes are also canon to the game's story mode as well, with them taking place between the end of -Sign- story mode and the beginning of -Revelator-'s story mode. The stage 7 and stage 8 characters more unique compared to before (with Jack-O' Valentine being the most fought stage 8 character). Elphelt, Leo, and Sin now have arcade cutscenes within their Arcade Run.

Following Rev 2, new arcade cutscenes were added with the inclusion of Answer and Baiken in the roster, but they lack a specific stage 7 character that they fight.

Stage 7 Characters
  • Axl Low (I-No's Arcade)
  • I-No (Axl Low's, Ramlethal's, Sin's and Sol's Arcade)
  • Elphelt Valentine (Bedman's Arcade)
  • Faust (Leo's Arcade)
  • Jack-O Valentine (Jam's Arcade)
  • Ky Kiske (Dizzy's Arcade)
  • Millia Rage (Slayer's, Venom's and Zato's Arcade)
  • Potemkin (Potemkin's Arcade)
  • Sol Badguy (Elphelt's Arcade)

Stage 8 Characters
  • Answer (Baiken's Arcade)
  • Baiken (Answer's Arcade)

  • Potemkin (Ky's Arcade)
  • Sol Badguy (Jack-O's Arcade)
  • Slayer (Millia's, Venom's, and Zato's Arcade)

Chipp, Faust, and Johnny's 7th stage aren't character-specific and thus random. Kum on the other hand lacks a specific stage 7 and stage 8 character so whoever she fights during these stages are completely random.
