Hirofumi Unchou

Hirofumi Unchou is an unseen character in the Guilty Gear series. A master of the iaido martial art, he was Johnny's instructor.[1] Very little is known about him.

He is said to be a master of the Phantom Hirofumi Style, Swallow-Moon-Blade (幻影博文派燕月剣, Gen'ei Hirofumi-ha Engetsuken?), focusing on the art of iai (quick draw) blade techniques. His were said to be faster than even Johnny's, and legend says he can draw a 10-foot spear faster than someone can draw a knife.[1] It seems that he taught Crow Kuruwaba as well, but at one point threw him into a dimensional prison for unknown reasons.[2]

Trivia

  • In Guilty Gear XX Λ Core Plus and its R update, Johnny has an Overdrive named after his master, called Uncho's Iai.
