― Fanny to Chipp Zanuff[src]
Fanny is a strange nurse with an unusual connection to Dr. Baldhead, who saved her life from a sickness. She has only appeared in the WonderSwan game Guilty Gear Petit and its sequel, Guilty Gear Petit 2 for the series.
Design
Fanny is a young woman with green eyes and blonde hair that falls from beneath the brim of her hat in two large locks. She wears a white nurse's uniform, bright red stockings and a nurse's cap with a red cross and 2 wing shaped decorations.
Personality
Fanny is an attentive nurse and diligent in her work. She seems to be somewhat quick to jump to drastic conclusions, declaring that Faust is suffering from an 'incurable disease' due to his stretching neck[3] and even mistaking a common cold for a life-threatening condition.[4] She readily bursts out into exaggerated re-enactments of her conversations with Dr. Baldhead and carries a bald-cap and glasses to impersonate him, with that and her stalwart belief that the doctor genuinely saved her life alluding to her laser-focused devotion to him and his work. If one even speaks slightly ill of her hero, she'll quickly lose her temper and fight for his honor.[4]
Spin-off story
Background
As a child, Fanny became a patient of the legendary Dr. Baldhead after catching a sickness that left her suffering from headaches, shivers, and coughing and sneezing. Convinced her illness was terminal, Fanny prepared for her life to end. However, after examining her, Dr. Baldhead diagnosed her with the common cold—a diagnosis she believed must be a lie to spare her the news of her impending death—and promised she'd be cured in no time. Soon after, Fanny grew healthy once more, and credited her recovery from her "incurable illness" to Dr. Baldhead's medical skills.
Though Faust has no memory of the incident, it was a pivotal moment for Fanny, as after that day she decided to dedicate herself to medicine in order to someday help the man she feels she owes her life to. For the sake of her goal she trained to become a nurse—however, upon entering the medical field, she learned that her hero had gone missing, and so set out in search of Dr. Baldhead in hopes of finally meeting him once more.[4]
Guilty Gear Petit
At some point after the Second Holy Order Selection Tournament, her path crosses Potemkin while he's out on a mission. Fanny asks Potemkin whether he has any knowledge of the "tall, suave, witty, and overall greatest doctor in the entire world" Dr. Baldhead. When he answers that he encountered a man going by that name in a tournament some time ago, she grows excited and asks for more information. Potemkin replies that he has no time to talk, which prompts her to battle him.
After defeating Potemkin, Fanny is able to get more information: Potemkin tells her that the Dr. Baldhead he met had a stretchy neck, a long tongue, and would occasionally crush people beneath gravestones. Hearing this, Fanny realizes Potemkin must have met someone else, as a weirdo like that certainly couldn't be her beloved doctor. Though disappointed by the mistaken identity, she's grateful for Potemkin's time and shares some medicine with him.[5]
Guilty Gear Petit 2
Soon after, while once again out in search of Dr. Baldhead, Fanny runs across Faust and asks him whether he's seen Dr. Baldhead. When Faust nervously answers that he's never heard of anyone by the name, she tells him her story of being saved by Dr. Baldhead as a child. Faust encourages Fanny to forget about the "strange doctor" she met that day and instead focus on being a nurse, which Fanny takes as an insult against Dr. Baldhead and attacks Faust for. After defeating him, Fanny once more demands to know if Faust has any information on Dr. Baldhead; when Faust answers again that he doesn't, she unhappily lets him go. Alone once more, Fanny laments being unable to find any leads and wonders to herself where Dr. Baldhead could possibly be.[4]
Abilities
She fights her enemies in much of the same style as Dr. Baldhead, using a syringe that once belonged to her late mother. Unlike other characters in the games she appears in, Fanny performs air dashes by using the wings atop her head, and in Guilty Gear Petit this allowed her to traverse massive distances that others couldn't.
Fanny uses her syringe in a multitude of ways: bluntly smacking it into opponents, flinging harmful liquids from its tip and most notably mounting it like a pogo-stick—she does this for movement as well as attacking from strange angles.
Besides the syringe, Fanny also uses various other items one might expect to find in a hospital in her attacks. These include a first aid kit, large scissors, and bandages. Her other attacks are mostly clumsy strikes that could be easily mistaken as benign actions such as kicking up her leg, tripping or dropping her syringe, but Fanny also has many attacks that involve her headbutting the opponent with cartoon-like emphasis on her face being stretched.
