The Aquila is the sword used by Ky Kiske in Guilty Gear 2 -Overture-. It's a broad bladed sword with carvings and a hollow middle. After the Thunderseal got sacrificed to freeze the Maiden of the Grove in time, Ky was given Aquila which is nothing more than a decorative sword for royalty. Unknown to others, Ky is modifying the sword to suit his abilities. He carries it just like how he carries the Thunderseal, however because of its weight, he plants it on the ground when he's at rest.

Trivia
  • Aquila is the Latin word for 'eagle'.

May

Anchor

GG World May's anchor is an unnamed recurring weapon in the Guilty Gear series. Although anchors are traditionally heavy pieces of metal that allow sailors to hold ships in place,[1] May uses this one as her signature weapon. Despite the anchor's massive size and weight, she can easily carry it one-handed over her shoulder. Thanks to her incredible strength, she is able to swings it around as if it weighs almost nothing.[1]

In Guilty Gear -Strive-, May's anchor has multiple pieces of writing engraved on it. The phrase "iron hammer of a maiden" is carved into the metal of the anchor's pointed tip, with the word "Jellyfish" written on either side. Around the anchor's ring is the text "a work of Novel / 2187".

Trivia
  • Starting from Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- her anchor has the text "a work of Novel / 2187", confirming that May's crewmate Novel made it & that between games May has used different anchors.
  • The original design for May gave her an axe instead of an anchor.[1]

Dr. Baldhead/Faust

Scalpel

Faust's scalpel is an unnamed weapon in the Guilty Gear series and the signature weapon of Dr. Baldhead and Faust.

Faust's scalpel is a massive, six-foot-long[2] stainless steel surgical scalpel. Faust is able to change it into a number of other forms when wielding it, including a baseball bat[3] and golf club.[4] In Guilty Gear -Strive-, Faust's scalpel features engravings in two places: the word "Stimulation" is etched into the side of the blade just above the handle, and "Faust" is written at the very end of the scalpel's handle, near the weapon's base.

Trivia
  • Pre-release articles for the original Guilty Gear show that during development the scalpel was called 巨大メスの丸刈太, which normally would translate as Magnificently Sharp Giant Scalpel, however there is a pun here with the Furigana of the Kanji 丸刈太 which is written as マルガリータ, instead of まるがりふとい so the name actually is Giant Scalpel Margarita (巨大メスの丸刈太, Kyodai mesu no marugarīta?).[5] In the Guilty Gear Codex the name was translated as just Margarita.[6]

Chipp Zanuff

Gauntlet Blade

An unnamed gaunlet blade is Chipp's weapon of choice, which he uses in tandem with his ninjitsu and other ninja utensils. He commonly uses the blade for certain moves such as Gamma Blade and Alpha Blade.

Axl Low

Kusarigama

Kusarigama are the signature weapon of Axl Low. They are two kamas attached by a chain which Axl has used in all his appearances.

Axl's kusarigama are two kamas with large, sharp blades and long black handles with a thick red stripe in the middle of them. In Strive the words "Thanks Luck" are engraved in gold on the blades.

Both kamas are connected by a chain that seems to form from inside them.

The kusarigama are mysterious when it comes to their link. There is no visible chain until Axl slams the ends of both kamas together, alongside the length being almost endless as it can reach the other end of the screen in most games. An example of the chains endless length is during Amphora Conflagration where the kama are able to go around the enemy to create an extremely thick binding.

The kusarigama supposedly allows Axl to conduct his fire magic through them as several abilities show him performing such acts

Trivia
  • a Kusarigama is a weapon made in Japan during the Muromachi period. However these usually are a singular kama connected to an iron weight by the chain.
  • Kusarigama also have their own martial art, kusarigamajutsu. Axl may have practiced this, but it's unclear as most times he uses them as long range weapons.

Kliff Undersn

Dragonslayer

The Dragonslayer, also known as the Dragon Killer, is Kliff Undersn's signature weapon.

It is a large blade which was forged from the scales and fangs of a dragon. It also retains the essence of the dragon whose blade it was created from as well as the spirits of the dragons that were slain by it.

Trivia
  • The name, size, and simple design of the blade is likely a reference to Guts's sword of the same name in the manga series Berserk.
  • The Dragonslayer is the largest known sword in the series with a blade (approximately) 5–6 feet long and 3 feet at its widest.

Testament

Scythe

An unnamed scythe is Testament's weapon of choice. A recurring item in the Guilty Gear series, Testament uses it in battle alongside their succubi & EXE Beast.

Testament's scythe has had three different designs across the series.

In Guilty Gear, the scythe appears to be made of metal with a gray bone sticking out from the back.

In Guilty Gear X and Guilty Gear XX the scythe blade is now made of Testament's blood and the gray bone is replaced with a gray human skull. Testament appears to summon the scythe out of nothing, with the blade forming later out of their blood. During Testament's Instant Kill Seventh Sign, they summon a second scythe.

In Strive the scythe blade is still made of blood, but the skull now has a more demonic appearance and has gained a spine that wraps around the wooden hilt of the scythe. Testament now walks around with the scythe's hilt, with a cage on top of it hanging from the skull's mouth, with their Succubi familiars inside it. In Testament's intro, the cage disappears and the pink succubus is eaten by the gray skull, turning into a pool of blood that forms into the blade, while the cyan succubus turns into a crow.

Zessen can change size as required, and will bear various glowing glyphs when in use. [10]

In the past, Zessen were not used as weapons, and were instead used to create and maintain a dimensional barrier that surrounded a Japanese Colony.[source needed] However, they were stolen by Anji when he left to explore the world.[11] Anji claims to have stumbled upon them by pure coincidence.[12]

Zessen are large, white folding hand fans with a gray cloud design and three gold diamonds in the center. They have red guards with ornate gold diamonds along them, and each has a small gold tassel with a red bead on the end.

Trivia
  • Mizuha's grandfather possesses a replica of Zessen in Guilty Gear Xtra.
  • 絶 (Zetsu), the Kanji on Zessen, means "unparalleled" or "unequaled", and is the name of the small solid piece that hits the inside of Japanese wind chimes.

Marlene is also listed among the things I-No likes in her profile.[14] As of Guilty Gear -Strive-, It is currently in the possession of Axl Low who took Marlene away from I-No during the final battle in her ascent to godhood.[15]
